Day Camp at the Y Our Y Camp impacts the community by giving each camper a place where they belong. At the Y, campers develop new friendships, explore creativity, experience new opportunities and learn life lessons. The Y is committed to investing in every child’s future by giving campers the building blocks to be successful. Specialty Camps SPECIALTY CAMP OPTIONS Our Specialty Camps are a great place to let your child do what they love, or try new things! Specialty camps are 4 days in length, and 3.5 hours long (8:30-12:00). Specialty Camp is not held on Wednesday. Tennis Camp– Weeks 3, 5, or 7 Experienced instructors will teach basic fundamentals of tennis. Lessons will include the utilization of modified equipment and creative methods of individual training for an optimum learning environment, meeting each child’s skill level needs. Basketball Camp– Weeks 2, 6, or 9 This developmental basketball camp introduces the participant to the skills of basketball. From shooting, passing, and dribbling, the participant will learn structure of the game. Once the skills are learned, let the games begin. Youth Soccer Camp– Week 4, 7, or 8 The soccer camp is designed to develop fundamental soccer skills while learning teamwork, strategy, and sportsmanship. Children will learn basic fundamentals, strategies and rules of the game, sportsmanship, and much more. Skills taught include fundamentals of shooting, passing, and dribbling. Flag Football Camp– Week 4, 5, or 8 Football camps are presented in fun and invigorating training environments. These camps offer the core skills of passing, catching, and de-flagging or defensive positioning. Our objective is to prepare our campers to be true champions on and off the gridiron. Baseball Camp– Week 3, 6, or 9 Baseball camp is designed for the beginning and intermediate level player. All fundamentals (catching, throwing, hitting, fielding, and more) are taught in a safe and fun atmosphere. Each participant will need a glove for class. HipHopKidz– Week 3 or 7 High-energy dance and fitness camp for both boys and girls alike. Get your feet moving with the latest hip hop music and moves. The end of the week will culminate with a dance showcase! Dancers of all levels are welcome. Water Exploration– Week 5 or 6 (Ages 5 & up) Come cool off this summer in our pool! This specialty camp will encourage your camper to become a stronger swimmer through instructed lessons and games. All swim abilities are welcome and campers will be separated according to skill. The week will wrap up on Friday with some races and relays with noodles and flotation, if needed. Story Time and Art: The Exploration of Eric Carle-Week 4 (Ages 5-8) Campers will listen to stories from the famed author Eric Carle. Each camper will use paints and collage techniques to work in the “style” of Eric Carle. Campers will creative 3 pictures based on his stories. Students will choose one fin- ished work at the end of the week to have matted, to make it a true “finished masterpiece. “ Creative Crafts Week 6 (Ages 7-11) For campers who love to create wearable, fun, and functional items. Campers will make decorative pillowcases, summer memory scrapbooks, tie dye drawstring backpacks, and a fun animal key chain. Campers will use paints and decorative items to design and embellish their crafts. Specialty Camp Rates: Full Day Camper : $30.00/week Full Member: $55.00/week Program Member: $65.00/week

PARENT AGREEMENT I have received The Gateway Family YMCA Parent Handbook, and I will review the camp safety and behavioral guidelines with my child. I understand my communication will sup- port my child in having a safe, happy, and memorable camp experience. I understand the importance of completing all registration materials prior to enrolling my child in camp. The registration materials support the YMCA in meeting licensing standards and are therefore a requirement. I understand that full payment is needed prior to my child’s participation in camp.
