General Manager’s Message I would like to begin my new role as CEO of Lakeland PBS by saying thank you. Thanks to all of our generous supporters - you are indeed the folks who make local public media work. I’ve talked with many of you over the years in my previous roles here at Lakeland, and I feel fortunate to have learned much about what you expect from us and our services. Also, thank you to our dedicated staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers who help us get the job done day in and day out. Please know that I’m dedicated to continuing our mission of providing true local content and services that have a positive impact on the citizens across our region. It has been a beautiful summer here in northern Minnesota, and I hope you all have enjoyed more time with family and friends now that the world is returning to more normal routines. Here at Lakeland, we’re looking forward to once again getting out into the public at more in-person events. There’s just no substitute for making that personal connection with the public we serve. We recently completed our June fund drive and I would like to sincerely thank everyone who made a contribution in support of our programming and services. Over the past year our member support has remained strong in spite of the troubling times, A Capitol Fourth (2021) and we see that as a sign that our mission of providing true LOCAL service is more Sunday, July 4 at 7pm & 8:30pm important than ever. Please join me in welcoming both Meghan and Laci to their new positions! Earlier this spring, we sent out our 2021 Program Preference Poll to our members and it’s been great to see all your responses coming in. I’ve been looking through some of the preliminary poll results - ranging from very favorable comments to some good constructive criticism about specific programs or series. We truly value all of your thoughtful feedback, and do indeed take the Program Preference Poll results to heart when we’re making future programming and production decisions. After all, we are here to serve our viewer’s needs, and one of the best ways to do that is by asking questions and listening carefully. Thanks for your support!
