JUDGES Calum Cook, John Macfarlane, Sandra Morgan, Robert Morgan, Andrea Swan YOU BE THE JUDGE! Our judges look at many different factors when rating the skills of each ensemble performing in the competition. By listening, watching, and seeing the musical score, our judges can rate the ensembles on the following: PLAYING TOGETHER DEGREE OF DIFFICULTY ACHIEVED Engaged in eye contact with one Suitability of the musical selection in another relationship to the ensemble’s skill level Performed with a balanced sound so that no one instrument dominated General competence of the chosen the music material Played with a beautiful tone that BONUS POINTS blended with the other instruments The judges may award bonus points Played in tune for outstanding performances that were well beyond the minimum Maintained the same tempo requirements in any of the above throughout the ensemble categories.
