About GPP
!   Gooseberry Park Players is a group of
    young artists that work together to
    put on a musical performance each
    year.

!   The program has a long-standing 39-
    year history in the Fargo/Moorhead
    area.

!   Along with being in the production,
    the young artists take daily classes in
    singing, acting, and dancing.

!   The young artists in the program also
    assist with the tech build and
    costuming.

About GPP

!   We are tuition free – There is no cost to take
    part in the classes, production, or activities.

!   The tech crew meets in the mornings
    (9am-12pm) and the cast rehearses in the
    afternoon (1pm-5pm), so you have the
    opportunity to take summer school,
    depending on what you choose to be
    involved with.

Our 2021 Show:

About Beauty and
    the Beast
!   Based on the 1991 animated film
!   Premiered on Broadway in 1994
!   Includes the songs from the original film
    by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.
!   Features new songs by Alan Menken and
    Tim Rice and an adapted book by Linda
    Woolverton
!   The original production ran over 13
    years and was nominated for 9 Tony
    Awards, including Best Musical.
!   Features a significant number of roles
    for all genders
!   Features twelve major roles and an
    extremely active ensemble

!   July 12th – July 18th – Tech Rehearsals – evening/weekend rehearsals will be

GPP Audition Process

               !   Fill out online interest form
               !   Bring current picture and resumé (if you have
                   one)
               !   Prepare an audition song no longer than 1-
                   minute. Songs from musicals or Disney films
                   preferred.
               !   Accompanist provided or a speaker to play a
                   track from your device
               !   Short spoken piece – Portion of the Narration
                   from the show’s Prologue
               !   Choreography – a short combo will be taught
                   and performed at the audition

GPP Tech Interest Process

!   Fill out online interest form
!   Tech Crew Applicants: Our Production Manager of Scenic Design will follow up with you
    with further info. Due to policy, students aged 12 & under must be accompanied by an
    adult in order to operate power tools. Tech work and Costuming occurs M-F,
    9am-12noon. Family tech nights are T/Th, 6-9pm. Get the whole family involved!
!   Pit Crew Applicants: Please contact Kelly Burns (GPP Pit Coordinator) for more
    information about available open chairs prior to filling out the Student Cast & Crew
    form. (kelly.w.burns@ndsu.edu)
!   Students interested in a Technical or Stage Management Internship (including set, props,
    painting, or costuming) please complete and submit the electronic Student Audition/
    Technician Form. Internship interviews (5-10 minute slots) will be available for signup
    once the cast list comes out. Please bring your resumé to your interview if you did not
    already submit it!
