2019 Testing Year by the Numbers • 30 administrations dates in 2019 • ~59,000 exams administered from January – June • Registration for this window opened mid-Oct 2018 • ~45,000 exams administered from July – September • Registration for this window opened mid-Feb 2019 • Total exams administered: ~103,568 • ~91,000 unique examinees • About 13% of students took the exam twice • < 1% took the exam three times • About 1% tested with accommodations

Fee Assistance Program The AAMC’s Fee Assistance Program helps those with financial need. How Often Can Students Test? • Up to 3 attempts in a 1 YEAR testing year • Up to 4 attempts over 2 YEARS 2 consecutive years • Up to 7 attempts in a LIFETIME lifetime Voids and No-Shows count towards attempts
Testing with Accommodations The AAMC is committed to providing all individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate their proficiency on the MCAT exam, including ensuring access to persons with disabilities • 1% test with accommodations • Commonly provided accommodations include: • Extra testing time • Extra break time • Separate testing rooms • MCAT Accommodations Online System (MAO) • Allows examinees to submit applications and documentation online for secure and efficient processing • Stores all decision letters for easy access in the future aamc.org/mcataccommodations accommodations@aamc.org
