Discover Germany in Summer 2019 and have the time of your life! Travel the world with the Lions and experience another culture The Lions Youth Exchange Program was launched more than 50 years ago to provide the youth, future leaders with opportunities to learn about cultures and people other than their own in an effort to promote peace in the world. Young people are given the opportunity to live with families in a foreign country for some weeks truly experiencing a new culture, a different way of life and making new friends in the Lions Youth camps. The German Lions yearly welcome about 250 participants, wishing them upon returning home to share their experience and henceforth living understanding with others as a mindset. The 20 German Lions Youth Exchange Chairpersons, more than 70 sponsoring clubs and the Lions Foundation Germany work hand in hand, to make the youth‘s sojourn in Germany unforgettable. District 111-N Moin moin-just join - Feel the North 2019! Having fun at the beaches of the North sea and the Baltic sea, getting some insight into the nature conservation on the German coastlines and getting to know the historical development of culture in Germa- ny and Schleswig-Holstein (Germany’s most northern federal state) making use of natural ressources. You will allso have the opportunity to go for sports and fun and much more…. A trip to Germany’s capital Berlin is part of your program! Visit the capital Berlin and the Volkswagen theme park „VW Autostadt.“ Discussions, excursions and much more. District 111-ON Lions Camp Berlin 2019 German culture and German history, German language, intercultural communi- cation and tolerance! Visit the German Bundestag and meet the members, History-Tour around and through Berlin, Visit of Potsdam and 2 days in camp at the Baltic Sea, Political talk, Visit to different embassies, experi- ence of self-discovery-painting and art, swimming, bathing and cycletours. Age: 18-22, 20 participant accepted Airport: Berlin (BER/TXL/SXF) Date: July 14 - August 04, 2019 (Family stay: July 14 - July 21, 2019) District 111-OS Lions Youth Camp Saxony 2019 Finding friends from around the world Visit Bautzen, Görlitz and walk into Po- land. Trip to Berlin. In Leipzig we will vi- sit the Völkerschlacht-Denkmal. Rafting, Zoo, Thomas-Kirche, Matine, Porsche Factory, a visit to the famous Frauenkir- che in Dresden, Grünes Gewölbe and the Castle of Pilnitz is planned. District 111-NW Lions Camp „Burg Wittlage“ 2019 Discovering the treasures and traditions of Lower-Saxony, Visit to Global Players of the Economy as Meyer-Werft in Papen- burg, Dr.Oekter-Welt in Bielefeld and Volks- wagen Autostadt in Wolfsburg. 3 to 4 days at the North-Sea Region and the Wadden Sea. A Day Trip to Bertelsmann Foundation and excavations at the Varus-Battlefields. Sight seeing, different kinds of sport activities like swimming, beachvolleyball, soccer, climbing, cano- eing, cultural events, welcome and farewell party, country presentations, funfare, musical, campfire, museum, industrial culture. District 111-WL Lions-Leo Camp „International OWL“ 2019 Be part of an international team! Think and act tolerant, cosmopolitan and curious! Teamwork activities, visits to company „Dr. Oet- ker“ and the city of Hamburg, „World Games“ in sports, vocational days in social and ecological branches, visit to Peace Village International. Age: 18-25, 20 participants accepted Airport: Hannover (HAJ) Date: July 29 - August 26, 2019 (Family stay: July 29 - August 12, 2019) District 111-MN Lions Youth Camp Rhine-Main 2019 Exploring Frankfurt, one of Europe´s bustling financial capitals and the beautiful Rhine-Main Region and it´s surrounding rivers, mountains and valleys with Sightseeing, Culture and Sports. District 111-MS Lions Camp Saar 2019 Visit to Schengen (Luxemburg), World He- ritage Site Völklingen, Dragon Boat Trip on the River Saar, Visit to Radio Station „Saar- ländischer Rundfunk“, Free-Climbing. Age: 16-21, 20 participants accepted Airport: Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) Date: June 22 - July 06, 2019 (Family stay: June 22 - June 29, 2019) Lions Youth Forum 2019 Munich (District 111-BS) „The Impact of Digitalization on Society“ Europe and the rest of the world are going a long way to achieve the so much wanted but also apprehended digital transformation. Goverrnments and companies launch massive initiatives, policy frameworks and funding schemes to promote digitalization in many fields. Are we ready for it? What can we do to prepare? To which extend will smart machines change our life? What are the implications of digital transformation on the labour market? In what ways can we prepare for the digital future? With the Youth Forum the German Lions yearly organize an ambitious summer academy and welcome high-school graduates, students and trainees from all over Europe. The participants as future leaders are given the opportunity to discuss European ideas beyond historical, poli- tical, socio-cultural and economical occurrences.
