Our Unique Proposition Healing TREE directly and specifically addresses the underlying cause of many of today’s public health crises. • Thousands of organizations exist today, most of which deal only with single issues such as domestic violence, child abuse, addiction, mental illness, sexual violence, and others. • Research shows that these issues share an underlying cause – interpersonal trauma. • Trauma literally reshapes the brain in ways that cannot be healed with traditional mental health and medical therapies. Trauma requires a different approach, one that rewires the brain for health. • We believe that when society understands, addresses, and heals from interpersonal trauma, we will dramatically change our communities. Healing TREE’s mission is to do exactly that.
Our Mission Healing TREE (Trauma Resources, Education & Empowerment) is dedicated to transforming how society responds to abuse and interpersonal trauma. • We connect those who have suffered trauma with resources necessary for healing. • We educate professionals and the public at large about proper and effective treatment. • We empower people through the media and the arts to spark a healing movement.
Our Organization Healing TREE is a non-profit organization with a national scope. • We were founded in 2014 by then 24 year-old Marissa Ghavami after her own experience dealing with and healing from interpersonal trauma. • Our advisors and board of directors include leaders in the trauma field, as well as experts in business, media, marketing, fundraising, and entertainment.
