RIPPLE 2018 University College of Medical Sciences, one of the most prestigious medical colleges of India, organizes it annual inter-college fest “RIPPLE” every year. This year too, the college celebrated its annual fest from 19th-22nd March, 2018. RIPPLE is one of the most eagerly awaited festivals, and sees generous participation year after year. The participation is not limited to medical colleges of Delhi and neighbouring states, but other reputed colleges of Delhi University and I.P. University too participated in large numbers. RIPPLE is witness to a multitude of events. The Literary Society of the college organised a plethora of mind boggling quizzes and debates. ‘The football transfer window’ and ‘Devil’s advocate’ organised this year were a hit amongst the students. The dance societies of the college, RENAISSANCE and CELESTE set the stage on fire, whereas PLEXUS, the music society of the college organised a wide array of indian and western music competitions. INNAYAT, the fashion society of UCMS was just formed this year, and managed to pull of a very successful fashion show. The art of society of the college, ARTIFEX, brought out the creativity of the students with its events like rangoli making, body painting and so many more. U Capture, the fashion society of the college captured the entire college through its lens, as well as organised a workshop and several on the spot and online competitions. Last but not the least, the much coveted drama society of the college, MANCHAYAN organised a nukkad natak competition. The relevant issues taken up the teams challenged the way we think and encouraged us to dream of a world we aspire to be in. The students also took to the field and participated in various sports events held in the college. Friends of the joystick were not left disappointed, as there were competitions to show case their supremacy in the virtual world. On top of this, RIPPLE saw several crowd pulling events like comedy night hosted by Jaspreet Singh, star night by the popular singer Harrdy Sandhu as well as the performance of Astitva band, which has everybody rocking to their tunes. TEACHER’S CARNIVAL This annual teacher’s carnival is the heart of RIPPLE. It is the most awaited event by both the faculty and students. Every year all the faculties of the college come together and perform various dances, plays or show their hidden talents. This is the best event of every RIPPLE. The student fills the entire conference hall to see their favourite teacher’s performance. There is laughter and drama which makes the college feels like home.
STAR NIGHT –HARRDY SANDHU
The star night is the most prestigious anticipated event of RIPPLE. The college has seen
several renowned celebrities perform, ranging from stars like Sukhvinder Singh, Neha
Kakkar, Farhan Saeed, the Local Train, Honey Singh, Vishal Bhardwaj, Badshah and Palash
Sen. This year too, the students were not left disappointed as the Punjabi superstar, Harrdy
Sandhu came to perform in the college. He has several Punjabi as well as Bollywood hits
under his belt. Harrdy Sandhu put up a stunning show for the audience, and drove the
crowd of hundreds crazy with his music. He performed his hits like “Naah”, “backbone” and
“Hornn blow”. The audience came from all over Delhi and nearby regions to see him
perform live and true to its word, they got to see a stunning show put up by the very best in
the country.
COMEDY NIGHT- JASPREET SINGH
He is the new upcoming comedian in India; he held the stage with his unique style and
engaged the audience for a happy night filled with laughter.
ASTITVA BAND
Astitva is a multi Genre Hindi based band in New Delhi, started in 2007. This was the
second time for the band to perform in RIPPLE, UCMS and the band very well connected
with the audience like a family. They performed multiple Hindi songs including their original
as well as few classic Hindi songs which the sense of euphoria. The performance was
energetic and their undivided passion for music.
PROGRESSIVE BROTHERS
It is an Indian electronic music duo band from New Delhi. They are known for their
performance in sunburn, VH1 supersonic and enchanted valley carnival. The duo
performed various multi lingual songs mash up which left the crowd energetic and made
everyone to put their dancing shoes on.
