D1 JOHANNESBURG - LESOTHO - Departure for Lesotho: We suggest all travellers arrive at least 1 day before the trip or take a flight that arrives the day of the tour but very early in the morning. If you arrive the day before, we can book a hotel near the airport for you. We can also arrange activities if you want to go on an excursion. - About Lesotho: Lesotho is a small country entirely landlocked within South Africa. The whole territory of this constitutional monarchy is located at over 1400 meters above sea level, which is why the country is nicknamed "Kingdom in the sky ". As in the case of the Swiss, the mountains helped to maintain the independence of this territory against European settlers who colonized the surrounding territories. - Border crossing and arrival in Lesotho. - Road to Tsehlanyane National Park. - Arrival at your accommodation and lunch - Village visit: The Basotho villages and their round thatched and stone roundavels make fantastic photo opportunities, but the real highlight of the visit is the warm and friendly people you will meet, often dressed in traditional Basotho Blankets. This is real life, and not a staged cultural village. - Dinner - Night: Maliba lodge D2 LESOTHO - Breakfast - About your accommodation: Maliba Lodge is the first and only 5-star luxury Lesotho accommodation in Southern Africa. It is located in the pristine Tsehlanyane National Park, in the heart of Lesotho and is known as the Mountain Kingdom. Maliba Lodge is a mere 4.5 hours drive from Johannesburg International Airport and in that short space you are transported to another world. - The park has 4 major rivers and numerous waterfalls (some of which even freeze over in winter), rock pools, swimming holes. A nearby valley known as the Valley Of The Pools has over 16 deep swimming holes, over a 5km stretch. A spectacular tripple waterfall known as Lesaloto is also only a 4 hour return hike from the lodge. The parks numerous swimming holes, rapids and rivers all contain pristine clear water. Maliba has its own private natural swimming hole which is less than 50 meters from the chalets. In the afternoon, the most daring can take a pony ride, a popular mode of transportation in rural Lesotho. - Dinner - Night: Maliba lodge D3 LESOTHO - Breakfast - The visits of this second day to Lesotho include the cellars of Kome, dwellings built by the Basia peoples who were protecting themselves from war crimes and cannibalism. The cellars are still inhabited by their descendants today. We will then discover the footprints left by the dinosaurs in this region, cave paintings SAN peoples, as well as the mountain of Thaba Bosiu where, according to legend, the Basotho nation was born. - Return to the guesthouse and dinner - Night: Maliba lodge D4 LESOTHO – ROYAL NATAL NATIONAL PARK - Breakfast - Border crossing and departure for the Royal Natal national park - Arrival and check-in: Thendele camp is situated in one of the most stunning settings in South Africa and all chalets have a view of the world famous amphitheater. The camp is situated below the sandstone cliffs of Dooley among yellow-wood 4
forests and protea savannah. Visitors can often hear the rumble of boulders in the Tugela river below after a summer thunderstorm. Thendele Camp is the closest camp to the main Drakensberg escarpment and is dominated by the amphitheater which changes its mood with weather and season. Often covered in snow in winter with up to eighteen waterfalls cascading down the vertical cliffs after a storm, Thendele is a very special place to visit. - Dinner - Night: Royal Natal National park D5 ROYAL NATAL NATIONAL PARK - Breakfast - Day at leisure in the park: There are numerous trails one can easily access from the camp - Dinner - Night: Royal Natal National park D6 ROYAL NATAL NATIONAL PARK – SAINTE LUCIE - Breakfast - Departure for Saint Lucia - Arrival in Saint Lucia in the afternoon and check-in at your hotel - Sunset cruise: The park in which the estuary is located is a world natural heritage. The cruise is a treat for bird watchers with over 500 species to see, coastal dune forests and marshes. With over 800 hippos and 1,500 crocodiles in the St Lucia ecosystem, you are sure to find yourself face to face with one of these creatures during your cruise! - Dinner - Night: Pompano guesthouse D7 SAINT LUCIA – HLUHLUWE - Breakfast - Check out and departure for Hluhluwe - Arrival in Hluhluwe and check-in - Afternoon safari in the Hluhluwe national park: The Hluhluwe-Umfolozi reserve is the oldest park national and one of the largest in South Africa. Less touristy than the Kruger National Park, it is the meeting of two reserves: Hluhluwe and Umfolozi named after the two rivers that cross it. Proclaimed national reserve in the 1950s for the conservation of the rhinoceros, the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi reserve now houses almost 90% of the world's rhino population - Dinner - Night: Bushlands game lodge D8 HLUHLUWE – SWAZILAND - Breakfast - Check out and border crossing for Swaziland - Arrival in Swaziland and meeting with Serge or Myxo. Serge and Myxo are 2 guides based in Swaziland, a small country landlocked within South Africa. After doing a half day cultural tour with the guide of your choice, you will either have dinner and spend the night in Serge’s guesthouse OR in Myxo’s village, in a traditional hut. - Lunch included - Guided tour and discovery of Swaziland with Serge OR Myxo ( guide to be allocated according to interests) - Dinner - Night: Serge’s guesthouse/ Myxo’s village 5
D9 SWAZILAND – KRUGER PARC - Breakfast - Border crossing and departure for the southern part of the Kruger park - Arrival at the Lower Sabie and check-in: Lower Sabie is located in the southern part of the Kruger Park, only 1-hour drive from "Crocodile Bridge" (South entrance to the Park) in one of the richest game areas: numerous antelopes, predators, birds. The camp is ideally placed, at the foot of the Lebombo mountains, in a hilly landscape, surrounded by very beautiful vegetation, it is generally very popular with visitors, because it allows to observe large number of mammals, attracted by the point the dam on the Sabie River. - Afternoon safari in Kruger Park - Dinner - Night: Lower Sabie rest camp D10 KRUGER PARC – TIMBAVATI GAME RESERVE - Breakfast - Morning in the Kruger Park - Departure for Timbavati: The Timbavati reserve was established in 1956 by the owners of the land of the time. Today, Timbavati with the adjacent Kruger National Park is one of the largest reserves in the world. One of the specificities of Timbavati is the low density of lodges present on the reserve. They all have one thing in common: preserving the ecosystem and the fauna found there. This reserve is always at the forefront of conservation initiatives and is a leader in research on the local flora and fauna, taking great care to always include local communities. - Arrival at Shindzela tented camp and lunch - 4x4 game drive in the Timbavati game reserve - Dinner: Shindzela tented camp - Night: Shindzela tented camp D11 TIMBAVATI GAME RESERVE - Morning 4x4 safari in Timbavati - Return to the lodge and breakfast - About Shindzela: The Shindzela Tented Camp is an authentic lodge ideally located between several private nature reserves and near the famous Kruger National Park. Let yourself be won over by its wild setting, where animals take advantage of the absence of barriers to roam freely on the site. Set off on the big cats' trail on routes organized by the hotel, by car or on foot, accompanied by a guide who specializes in the region and who will lead you in the footsteps of these stealthy predators ... With its eight tents arranged on wooden platforms and protected by thatched roofs, the Shindzela Tented Camp will immediately make you feel at the heart of Africa. In the evening, after a long safari, feast on a typical South African braai prepared with local game. To prolong the immersion in the savannah, a river flows through the middle of the camp. - Breakfast- Check-out and departure for the Blyde canyon: Deep from 6 to 800 meters, it extends over more than 26 km, making it the 3rd largest canyon in the world. Several points of view are worth a stop, like the site of "3 Rondavels" in the North. Its main geological curiosity is the “Bourke's Luck Potholes”. Finally, you will visit the old gold-mining village of Pilgrim's Rest, which ceased operations in 1972. Classified as a historic monument, its old houses have been restored and transformed into a living museum. - Dinner - Night Rustique guesthouse D13 GRASKOP – JOHANNESBURG - Breakfast - Discovery of the landscapes of the panoramic road and departure for Johannesburg - Arrival in Pretoria and guided orientation tour - Check in at your gueshtouse - Dinner - Night: Sunrock guesthouse D14 JOHANNESBURG - Breakfast - Guided tour of Soweto and the Apartheid museum with French-speaking guide. The township of Soweto, once marked by segregation during apartheid, represents the heart of South Africa’s struggle against injustice. TERMS AND CONDITIONS Registration and payment Any registration for one of our trips will be definitively confirmed once this sales contract is signed and effective as soon as a deposit has been cashed. For certain trips subject to special cancellation conditions, you will be asked for a second deposit, the amount of which is mentioned in the detailed program. The balance of the trip must reach us at least 30 days before departure (If your balance has not reached us within the required time, your registration could be cancelled and subject to the usual cancellation conditions. In case of registration less than 30 days before departure, the total price of the trip must be paid upon registration. Cancellation Any cancellation on your part must be notified to us as soon as possible in writing. The payments made will be reimbursed under the conditions below: • beyond 30 days before departure: 30% of the total price of the trip will be deducted; • between 30 and 21 days: 50% of the total price of the trip will be deducted; • between 20 and 8 days: 75% of the total price of the trip will be deducted; • between 7 days - start date of services: 100% of the total price of the trip will be deducted. No reimbursement is made in the following cases: • Interruption of travel, unless this interruption occurs due to the organizers. • No show at the times and places of convocation mentioned in the travel book. • Lack of travel documents (passports, visas, vaccination certificates, etc.). • Certain specific services are not reimbursed: ex. plane tickets already issued, show tickets or entrance fees for certain activities, unless the cancellation is due to the organizer. Special circumstances: Force Majeure: This is an event that happens outside of your control, including natural disasters, civil unrest, ‘acts of God’, global pandemics and any other unforeseeable event that could disrupt your trip. In this case, Kamaroutes implemented a system that allows you to postpone your trip to a later date of your choice, without any penalty or rate increase. Your new trip will have to take place within 12 months from the original date however and you can assign someone to replace you if you decide not to travel anymore. Assignment of contract If you cannot leave, you can have someone replace you, if they meet the same conditions for the trip. You must notify us no later than 7 days before the start of the trip and confirm this change to us by email or registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt, stating precisely the name, first name and address of the participant. The assignment of the contract also remains subject to air availability allowing the trip to be carried out on behalf of the new participant and, where applicable, the deadline for obtaining the visa. Traveller safety For security reasons or on the recommendations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we may have to modify a program or cancel a departure. In the event of a program modification, we will reimburse any difference between the original and replacement services. In case of cancellation of the departure by the organizer, the full amount paid will be refunded. No additional compensation can be awarded in these circumstances. All passengers must ensure that they are medically and / or psychically fit to travel. We reserve the right not to accept a participant who does not have the skills or the physical capacity to make visits requiring travel on foot.
