LEARN
TO SWIM
With Lifesaving Society’s programs you are never
too old to learn, and never too young to start.
The Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre offers
programs for all ages and abilities including
Swim for Life, Swim Patrol, Aquatic Leadership
courses, and Adult and Fitness Swimmer programs
available in group-private or semi-private lessons.

Swim Assessments
We can help you find the best fit. Assessments
are provided at no cost and conducted by
experienced instructors who will recommend the
best level based on your child’s current ability.
If you did not participate in lessons in a previous
session, we recommend receiving an assessment
or registering for the level previously taken. Please
call to schedule your assessment.

Swim To Survive
Basic swimming ability is a fundamental
requirement to eliminating drowning in Canada.
This program teaches the essential skills needed
to survive an unexpected fall into deep water, an
important first step to being safe around water. In
this program you will learn the skill sequence of the
Canadian Swim to Survive standard including:
• ROLL into deep water
• TREAD water for one minute
• SWIM 50 metres
This program is aimed primarily at children, but
people of all ages should be able to perform the
Society’s Swim to Survive standard.
