Africa
Olam has built up a dominant presence in Africa, with coffee operations
in the Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Togo, Tanzania, Uganda and Burundi. The
vast spread and depth of these operations enable us to maintain very
good control over the flow and quality of the coffee we procure.
We are also actively involved in sustainability programs that aid in the
development of the local coffee communities.

Asia
Our operations in India span its entire coffee belt, and we leverage our
network of intermediaries, as well as our privileged planter relationships,
to purchase only the best quality coffees and process them in our mills in
Hassan, Chikmagalur, Coorg and Wyanad.
In Indonesia, we buy coffee from all the major growing regions in Sumatra,
processing them in our production facility in Lampung. At our specialty
Arabica coffee operations in Medan, we carefully select and handpick
premium quality “Lintong” and “Mandheling” coffees.
Olam Vietnam maintains a wide procurement spread across the country’s
three largest coffee growing provinces, Dak Lak, Lam Dong and Gia Lai.
We also operate a large wet-processing facility in Lam Dong, through
which we purchase fresh Arabica cherries and process these into high
quality “fully-washed” and “semi-washed” Arabica coffee beans.
Central America & Andean Region
In Colombia, we maintain three coffee mills supported by a network of
zonal buying offices across most of the key growing areas. Our offerings
cover most coffee varieties and qualities, including regional specialties like
Medellin, Huila, Popayan and Bucaramanga.
Our presence in Peru comprises two mills in Lima and Jaen, processing
all coffee varieties and types. Apart from supplying regular Peruvian MCM
and MC coffees, we also offer customised coffee grades and blends to
cater to the specific requirements of our clients.
Extending our Leveraging our strong origination skills built up in the Robusta
business in Africa and Asia, we have grown exponentially in Latin
network America and are a significant player in the Arabica coffees from
this region. In fact, today we are one of the top exporters in most
of the major coffee growing countries in this region.
Brazil
Olam is among the largest coffee exporters in Brazil, with a large network
of buying offices spread across all the key coffee growing regions. We
have invested significantly in building up comprehensive coffee processing
infrastructure and preferred partnerships in the country. These are well
serviced by our large and competent team of experienced professionals.
Olam maintains two mills and a large up-country buying network spread
across all the main coffee areas in Honduras. In addition to offering the
regular HG / SHG coffee varieties, we are also large exporters of special
cupping coffees from specific areas like Marcala and San Marcos.
We have further enhanced our sourcing capabilities in the region for both
mainstream and speciality coffees by establishing facilities and offices in
Mexico and Guatemala.

Our own best-in-class warehouses and mills across 16 coffee origins are
well supported by a team of over 800 dedicated employees. This enables
us to confidently manage customer requirements and surpass quality
expectations in terms of preparation, screen sizes, regional specialties and
cup profiles.
One of the key elements in our origination strategy is a committed
approach to making the right investments in processing infrastructure.
To date, we are already one of the largest processors of Robusta coffee
worldwide, and a dominant force on the overall coffee processing
landscape. More than 90% of our total coffee volume is now processed in
Olam-owned and controlled mills.
With this infrastructure in place, we are not only able to exert greater
control over the quality and consistency of the finished coffee product,
but we also enjoy the flexibility to develop customer-specific coffee grades

Our high tech and modern processing facilities across Asia, Africa and
South and Central America include the latest cleaning and grading lines,
color sorters and polishers, making them capable of handling all variety
and quality requirements across global markets. We also offer premium
hand-picked varieties for our clients, for several West African Robusta
grades as well as for specialty coffees like Indonesia Mandheling.
Crop Surveys Crop surveys are carried out by our teams of agronomists and
statisticians in each of our key coffee origins, each ably supported by
our pool of experienced field personnel. These surveys are carried out
at multiple times annually, enabling us to closely monitor the development
of our crops through their flowering, cherry and post harvest stages.

Olam’s Specialty Coffee Division has experienced teams based in the
USA - in the New York area as well as in California.
Under this division, our team has wide expertise in the sourcing and
marketing of all specialty and certified coffees. They have travelled
extensively across all coffee growing regions and are Q-graded cuppers.
They are also regularly invited to participate as judges in major cupping
competitions around the world, and have served on the Boards of both
the Specialty Coffee Association of America and the Pacific Coast Coffee
Association.
The Specialty Coffee Division offers coffees from Olam origins as well as
other countries, providing both the expertise and sourcing necessary to
assist buyers in locating exceptional coffees for the right price.
New Soluble Coffee
Initiatives
Olam has invested in a state-of-the-art soluble coffee processing facility
in Vietnam, equipped with the most modern and high-tech roasting,
extraction and aroma-recovery capabilities. We are now able to offer our
customers a full range of soluble coffee options including Spray Dried
Powder, Agglomerated, Freeze Dried Coffee and Frozen Liquid Extracts.
Plantations
Through our investment in coffee plantations across select geographies,
we aim to cater to the niche but growing demand for single estate or
traceable coffees. This focus also enables us to easily implement our
sustainability efforts by initiating out-grower programs for farmers situated
around our plantations, and providing training to help them improve yields.
Our first single estate coffee plantation is in Laos where we are planting
