PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE FOR MAY 2022 By the time you read this or have received this in your email; perhaps we have already had our annual Pizza and Ice Cream Season Kickoff at our meeting for May 2022. I want to thank Dennis Langlois for his help in ordering the Pizza again this year, picking up the water and goodies – thank you to Palagi Ice Cream who is always so receptive to my invitations for our Club. The Blessing of the Corvettes will be by Pastor Effie – and God knows we can all use a Blessings. Since Mother’s Day is around the corner – I want to say a very Happy Mother’s Day to the wonderful women of our Club. We have some amazing women in this Club that I am humbled to call friends. I wish you all nothing but a peaceful, relaxing, and loving day. I want to take a moment and ask for prayers of recovery from surgery to some beautiful women, Karen Nastari, Lynn Luiz, and Louise Boulanger. I hope you can keep them in your prayers. Also, prayers going out this week for Warner Dauphinee who will be underdoing hip surgery. At our recent Social at the Grist Mill it was wonderful to see a healthy-looking Ray Brouillette, Roger Papineau, Gino Marini and so nice to see Marlene and Richard Gallo. Please keep our members in your prayers as everyone has had a tough winter. We have numerous events coming up and we welcome anything new and exciting for anyone to share in preparing and/or coordinating an event. I was happy to hear of some members who attended Cars and Coffee, thank you Douglas Lombardi, thank you Elizabeth and Warner for coordinating the Grist Mill Event – we had a lovely afternoon. THE NEW C8’s – the array of new cars in our club is just outstanding and I am so happy that Members continue to support out Sponsor Paul Masse. We will be taking a count of Members who would be attending the August 13 Corvettes by the Sea so that we can make sure to accommodate everyone’s needs. I am hoping this Covid situation stays at Bay so that nothing will have to be rescheduled or cancel. I hope the Members will consider coming to Gate City in Merrimack NH this month – join in on the local parades and just enjoy each other’s company. Before I end, I hope that everyone understands how hard this committee is working in trying to get our members involved with limited seating at some of these functions. It will be my suggestion to the committee that we plan throughout the summer more events that members will be able to attend without any limitations on how many can attend. On behalf of myself and my team, I can tell you we truly do put the membership first in trying to coordinate rides and socials that everyone can participate in. Have a wonderful May everyone. SAVE THE WAVE – WITH ANGELS ON WHEELS LILIANA V. DOLAN, PRESIDENT 3

The 1986 “Copper Metallic” Corvette Not all of the rarest Corvettes start life that way. In 1986, Chevrolet offered a new paint color for the production Cor- vette. Called “Copper Metallic,” the paint was introduced as an available color but seemingly NOBODY took no- tice. Because of this, finding an original 1986 Copper Metallic Corvette is next to impossible – there were only four made that year! The color continued being offered for a second year, and a modestly larger number – 87 total – Cop- per Corvettes were produced for the 1987 model year. Although this car does not command the prices of the other cars on this list, there’s no denying its uniqueness and (arguably) its collectability.
