Hello Royals! We are looking ahead to a great 2021-2022 school year! While we cannot fully confirm what next school year will look like, we are planning to return to school in August with as many “normal” components as possible. We will continue to follow the guidance of the CDC, Marion County Health Department and the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, to ensure that we provide a safe and healthy learning environment for our students, faculty and staff! More information will be sent in the Principal’s Newsletters beginning in July. Whatever comes our way, we will be prepared and ready for another successful year! Our faith in Jesus is what gives us the confidence to look ahead. Have a great summer Royals! Cathlene Darragh Laura Mates Principal Assistant Principal ST. SIMON THE APOSTLE CATHOLIC SCHOOL

Safe & Sacred SAFE & SACRED The Archdiocese of Indianapolis requires all employees and volunteers to complete the online Safe and Sacred training program, as well as a background check. Parents must also attend a mandatory Chaperone Meeting in addition to the Safe and Sacred program, before they can volunteer or attend field trips. The online program can be done anytime and new parents are encouraged to complete it over the summer. The training can be found at safeandsacred-archindy.org safeandsacred-archindy.org.. Several Chaperone meetings will be scheduled throughout the first semester, dates will be communicated in August. For questions about Safe & Sacred please contact the Saint Simon Parish Office. From the Nurses MEDICAL INFORMATION Mrs. Beth Della Rocco and Mrs. Angie Bauer are our school nurses. They alternate days staffing the nurse’s office. There are two important forms parents will complete for each of their students. 1. Emergency Contact Card this will be sent home on the first day of school and must be returned the next day. A separate card is required for every student. 2. Student Care Plan this is necessary only if you know your child will require prescription medication or treatment from the nurses. This form is located on our website and Sycamore and should be completed over the summer and given to the nurses at Back to School Day with any needed medication. If you need to discuss your child’s care plan you can do so with one of the nurses at Back to School Day or you can email them to set up a phone call in August. IMMUNIZATIONS All incoming Preschool, Pre-K, Kindergarten and 6th grade students need to submit an updated immunization record. All new students must submit a copy of their current immunization records. To view required immunizations visit: school.s school.saintsimon.org/clinic aintsimon.org/clinic.. 2021 - 2022 Saint Simon Student Information Packet page 5
