Sports Tourism on the Treasure Coast What's Happening In May! High School Scholar Athlete Awards Night Presented by the Treasure Coast Sports Commission May 13, 2019 at 7:00 pm
Sunrise Theatre 117 S 2nd St, Fort Pierce, FL 34950 The Treasure Coast Sports Commission High School Scholar Athlete Award recognizes both a male and female scholar athlete from all public and private schools in Indian River County, St. Lucie County, Martin County and Okeechobee County. A total of 20 schools. All nominees must be a scholar athlete, demonstrates leadership skills, exhibits strength of character, sportsmanship and serves as a role model for others on and off the playing field. All nominations remain at the discretion of each high school's athletic director. The Awards Night will also recognize all Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) District 19 nominated athletes and teams. Awards presentation will begin at 7:00 pm with doors opening at 6:30 pm. Additional tickets, $5.00 each, may be purchased at the Sunrise Theater Box Office, (772) 461-4775 . Perfect Game Youth Treasure Coast Classic May 4-5, 2019 Lawnwood Baseball Complex 1302 Virginia Ave, Fort Pierce, FL 34950 The Treasure Coast Sports Commission is happy to be working with Perfect Game Youth Florida on a handful of tournaments in 2019! Perfect Game Youth Florida hosts over 50 baseball events a year.
Because they are based in the "Sunshine State" they have the luxury to play more. Although the tournaments are competitive they classify teams to keep a level playing field. Perfect Game Youth Florida prides itself in catering to the athletes, families and coaches, while providing them an unforgettable experience. They realize that a baseball team is like a family, so staff is very attentive to each team's needs. The things that keep teams coming back is their customer service, great venues (baseball fields), quality umpires, awesome prizes (trophies & medals) and the smiles on everybody's faces. Games are scheduled to start at 8:00 am on Saturday, May 4th. MultiRace Olympic and Sprint Triathlon May 4, 2019 Jensen Beach Park Jensen Beach, FL 34957 MultiRace creates innovative, challenging and exciting triathlon, duathlon and running events that empower racers to achieve their personal best. Established in 2002, MultiRace is the largest multiple- sport event management company in the state of Florida managing over 30 endurance events scheduled in 2019. Treasure Coast Swimming Club "Go for the Gold" Invitational
May 4-5, 2019 North County Aquatic Center 9450 County Road 512 Sebastian, FL 32958 This swim meet is a 50 meter long course event sanctioned by USA Swimming. Open to all currently registered USA Swimmers. This is the Treasure Coast Swimming Club's third swim meet of the year out of four taking place at the North County Aquatic Center. Warm-ups begin at 7:30 am and competition begins at 8:30 am on Saturday. Florida AAU Karate Regional Championship May 11, 2019 Havert L. Fenn Center 2000 Virginia Avenue Fort Pierce, FL 34982 The AAU Karate Program offers opportunities for boys, girls, men and women - ages 5 to senior adults, in all skill levels to participate. Events are held throughout the country, including local Clinics/Seminars, District Championships, Super Regional Championships and National Championships. Competition is scheduled to start at 9:00 am on Saturday.

This event continues to produce a high number of teams (100+) which results in direct economic impact for the Treasure Coast. Multiple venues will be utilized around Jensen Beach and Stuart over the two days. Games are scheduled to start at 8:00 am Saturday.
FHSAA Softball State Championships May 21-24, 2019 Jackie Robinson Training Complex 3901 26th St, Vero Beach, FL 32960 Vero Beach and Indian River County will be the host of the FHSAA Softball State Championships for the 7th consecutive year! The Florida High School Softball State Championships will bring in 36 teams from around the state. Games will be played at the Jackie Robinson Training Complex. Do you want to be part of this exciting event? The TCSC is looking for volunteers for the 2019 FHSAA State Softball Finals at Historic Dodgertown on May 21-24. Volunteers are needed in four hour blocks. Looking for volunteers in the following areas: -Parking -Hospitality check-in (lunch and dinner)

Kyokushin Kan Karate USA Seminar May 24-26, 2019 Intergenerational Recreation Center 1590 9th St SW, Vero Beach, FL 32962 Kyokushin Karate was founded by Mas Oyama. Oyama traveled from his native Korea, to China and finally to his adopted country of Japan, Studying Martial Arts. What is Kyokushin karate? To some, it is a way to develop and maintain physical strength and learn effective self-defense techniques. To others, it is much more than that. Kyokushin karate is a way of life that transcends the physical aspects of training. The philosophy of Budo is evident in the name that Mas Oyama chose for his karate style, Kyokushin which means "Ultimate Truth". this unique event will bring in around 200 participants from around the country. Instructors will also be flown in from around the world such as Japan and Jamaica.
Dr. Aspi Doctor Memorial Swim Invitational May 24-26, 2019 Anne Wilder Aquatic Complex at IRSC 3209 Virginia Ave, Fort Pierce, FL 34981 Another USA Swimming sanctioned event hosted by Indian River State College and Indian River Aquatics. Expect to see around 400 participants from around the state of Florida. Competition will start on Friday night at 5:00 pm, Saturday morning at 8:30 am, and Sunday morning at 8:30 am.
