Day 1: Wednesday 5th August 2020 Day 2: Thursday 6th August 2020 Arrive in Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. Breakfast at the hotel before travelling to the Brisbane A transfer will be available from Domestic and Royal Show [Ekka] where Charolais will be the feature International Airports to our Brisbane base, the Hotel breed on exhibition. Discover the diversity of an Australian Royal show. An opportunity to see other breeds on the lawns, watch the Prime Cattle auction and visit with exhibitors. Exhibition halls and displays are open. Day 4: Saturday 8th August 2020 Breakfast at the hotel before travelling to Mount Coot-tha for view over Brisbane. Next stop is the famous Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary where you can get up close to the unique animals of Australia. Koala, kangaroo, platypus, wombats, see just how different Australian animals are. Lunch is at the indigenous “Spirits of the Red Sands” where we gain an insight into Australian Aboriginal culture. After lunch head into the sub tropical hinterland, you have the opportunity to stretch your legs at the Tamborine Mountain Botanical Gardens. We travel a little further to the south for dinner and a show at the Australian Outback Spectacular. Tonight we stay at the Hotel Grand Chancellor, Brisbane. [Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner] [Dinner Drinks included, Drinks may be purchased at lunch] Day 5: Sunday 9th August 2020 Breakfast and check out of the hotel. Travel out of Brisbane through Cunninghams Gap to the Darling Downs region. Hope for a clear day as the views from this steep ascent can be stunning. Today our first herd visit is Palgrove Charolais. Palgrove established by the Bondfield Family is the largest herd in Australia established in 1970 and known internationally. Next is a visit to Jim & Jackie Wedge’s Ascot Charolais stud on the historical North Toolburra property. Dinner tonight is at the award winning “Rudd’s Pub” Nobby. Built in 1893 the hotel itself is quite unique and still retains the character and charm of a bygone era. The walls tell a photographic story of days gone by and memorabilia covers the walls and the ceiling. After dinner it’s a short drive to Toowoomba where we stay the night. Day 6: Monday 10th August 2020 Breakfast and check out of the hotel. We travel across the “Darling Downs” region with the first stop today, the historical Jondaryan Woolshed built in 1859. There are more than 30 buildings with antique machinery and much more to explore in this heritage listed living museum. Morning tea and lunch will be in the woolshed. After lunch we drive west to the “Maranoa” district to Surat and our host, the Price Family at Moongool Charolais. After a herd visit we head into nearby Surat to the heritage Warroo Town Hall for dinner. After dinner relax on the bus to Roma where we camp for the night. [Meals: Breakfast, Morning Tea, Lunch, Afternoon Tea, Dinner] [Drinks included] Day 7: Tuesday 11th August 2020 Breakfast and check out of the hotel. For the early risers the opportunity to visit the weekly cattle market or savour an extra bit of sleep. Roma has the largest selling complex in Australia with 372,000 head sold in 2014/15. Our buses today take us to the ANC herd of Andrew and Norah Cass. This Full French herd of over 650 breeders has a strong poll breeding program. After lunch we head down the Warrego Highway to Marburg for dinner at the historical Woodlands Mansion. From Marburg it’s a quick drive into Brisbane and back to the Hotel Grand Chancellor. Day 8: Wednesday 12th August 2020 Breakfast and check out of the hotel. Travel to Brisbane airport and bid farewell to Queensland. An eighty minute flight on national carrier Qantas and we land in the harbour city Sydney. Appreciate the scale of this city and magnificent harbour as we approach. Travel to entertainment precinct, Darling Harbour for lunch. We check into our Sydney base, Rydges World Square in the heart of the CBD. After checking in we depart for a three hour dinner cruise around Sydney Harbour. Take the bus back to the hotel or walk and take in some Sydney nightlife on the way. [Meals: Breakfast, Morning Tea, Lunch, Dinner] [Drinks included] Day 9: Thursday 13th August 2020 Day 10: Friday 14th August 2020 After breakfast we head to the Hunter Valley a Breakfast in the hotel followed by the Charolais renowned wine district. Travel through sandstone cliffs & Charbray International AGM and a Genetics in the Great Dividing Range to the Ben Ean Winery Symposium including lunch. We are lining up a great Complex. An Australian wildlife experience with iconic Australian animals including koalas, kangaroos, platypus, dingoes, wombats, emus and more. Day 2: Sunday 16th August 2020 Breakfast at the hotel before touring Kings Park, a 400 hectare park and Botanical garden on the CBD doorstep. Take in the stunning views over the city and river. Journey north to Liberty & Culham Charolais at their historical property at Toodyay for a herd inspection and lunch. Culham has been in the Phillips family since 1839. From Culham head to the York, the oldest inland township in Western Australia. York is situated in the wheat belt of Western Australia. Morning tea at the Williams Woolshed before lunch and herd visit at Venturon Charolais, Boyup Brook. Travel into the Karri Valley for accommodation at the local resort. POST TOUR: WESTERN AUSTRALIA Day 5: Wednesday 19th August 2020 Today we give the taste senses an overload, with visits to the Margaret River Cheese Company, Margaret River Choc Factory, Bootleg Brewery and Driftwood Day 4: Tuesday 18th August 2020 Winery. The Margaret River region abounds in scenery and activities and is a popular tourism region. Take in Breakfast at the resort before heading into the one of the finest beachs in the region before heading regions famous forests.
