WEEKLY UPDATE JULY 16 2020 | 5:00 PM A Weekly Newsletter for Plumas County Growing Healthy Communities COVID-19 in Informational Plumas County: Websites: Active: 8 plumascounty.us Recovered: 14 covid19.ca.gov Total Positive cdph.ca.gov Cases: 22 cdc.gov The Risk of Indoor and Outdoor Activities and the Dimmer Switch: Sandy Henley, Assistant Director, Plumas County Public Health Agency In direct response to the statewide surge in COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations, and intensive care unit (ICU) admissions in recent weeks, including rural regions of California, Governor Newsom announced the Dimmer Switch for the state’s multi-stage re-opening plan would be applied on July 13, 2020. Many activities that had reopened have again closed. If we don’t regain control of the surge, it will prevent schools from opening, overwhelm ICUs, and cause the unnecessary death of thousands of Californians. Most restricted activities are those where contact between members of different households increases risk of infection, such as indoor theatres, bars, and restaurants. Outdoor activities, such as cycling, tennis, or hiking, have much lower risk of spreading the virus even Mass Testing Events: when near infected individuals. Physical distancing and wearing face coverings Plumas District Hospital - outdoors, and indoors for essential activities Tuesdays & Thursdays from such as grocery shopping, further reduces the 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM in Quincy risk of becoming infected and should continue to be practiced. Registration required- 283-5640
