2018 WINTER FESTIVAL PROGRAM 9 Build castles in the sand at the plunge L ook for Andy West this year at the 2018 Lewes Polar Bear Plunge on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. as he shapes and sculpts lines in the sand just south of Rehoboth Avenue. For more than a decade, Andy watched while others played at the annual Rehoboth Beach Sandcastle Contest. Then in 2005, West decided it was time to just dig in, literally, and join friends who had been participating in the event and willingly sharing les- sons and tips over the years. Andy has finished in the Top 10 in the Rehoboth contest for the past nine years. During summer and fall weekends, you can usually find him carving on the beach at Cape Henlopen State RON MACARTHUR PHOTO Park.
