2020 Public Presentations Speaking of State 4-H Continued Presentations…. Save the Date! Equine Art Show February 22, 2020 This is held in conjunction with the NJ State 4-H Horse Bowl Contest on Saturday, February 22 at the Burlington County Emergency Service Training Academy in Westampton. This event is open to ALL NJ 4-H Horse members (grades 4-13). Any type of art, craft, or photo may be entered as long as it has an equine theme. For registration materials, please call the 4-H Office. 4HOnline Update January 1, 2020 was the registration/“re- enrollment” deadline for State level 4-H events. All current 4-H members who wish to participate in a State level event MUST be registered in 4HOnline by January 1. If you did not register with 4HOnline or complete the re- enrollment process before January 1, you will not be eligible for events such as (but not limited to) NJ State Horse Bowl competition, State Presentations, State Rabbit, Cavy, and News! Small Animal Show, State Horse Show, State Shooting Sports matches etc. New members can sign up for 4HOnline at Warren County 4-H is on https://nj.4honline.com. Facebook! Returning members need to “re-enroll” each fall with the start of the new project year. It’s never too early to start thinking about summer camp! Results! Eastern National 4-H Horse Summer camp at the beautiful Lindley G. Cook 4-H Camp is right in our back yard in neighboring Round-Up Congratulations to our Warren County 4-H Horse Sussex County. Camp weeks are themed and Club members who competed at the National 4-H activities, games, and fun are Horse Round Up in Louisville Kentucky in focused around the theme! Themes November 2019! in the past have included Pirates, Wizards, Dinosaurs, Vikings, Chaos, Alissa Monetti competed with the Horse Judging Spies, and so on! Camp is filling up fast! 2020 NJ 4-H Goat Extravaganza Early Bird registration opened in January! And current, active 4-H members receive a discount! The annual Goat Extravaganza was held on Saturday, January 11 in Hunterdon County. 43 4-H members 4-H camp builds independence and self-confidence representing 12 clubs from 10 counties participated! in the campers. Team was coached by Tracy Smith, Warren. Members- Bradley Richman and Carley Kimball, Salem; Zoe Lockburner, Sussex and Brittany Smith, Warren. Teen Council members also baked cookies for the Warren County Homebound program in December. Over 80 contestants participated in the event! The team placed 16th Overall and 9th in Brown Swiss and 5th in Guernsey. Brittany Smith was 39th High Individual Overall and 17th in Individual Reasons. Club News! Hot Shots Nicole VanBlarcom participated in the Fall Shooting Sports Instructor Training and completed the 15 hour training course to become a State 4-H Shooting Sports Level I Archery Instructor! Out Of Our Shells learned the life saving skill of CPR/AED with Somerset County Park Ranger and American Heart Association CPR Fall Tractor Supply Paper Clover instructor Walter Kruegel. Adventures in Veterinary Medicine (AVM) is a fun and engaging career exploration program for middle and high school students who are interested in pursuing a veterinary career.
