2019 Public Presentations Speaking of State 4-H Continued Presentations…. Agri-Science Youth Summit Results! Eastern National 4-H Horse Kimberly Kolibas represented Warren County at the annual Agri-Science Youth Summit at the Round-Up National 4-H Conference Center in Chevy Chase Congratulations to our Warren County 4-H Horse Maryland. 2019 NJ 4-H Goat Extravaganza Mrs. Tosh explained Macronutrients and Micronutrients and what role they play in keeping us healthy. Out Of Our Shells 4H had a fantastic time being Secret Santa’s to “Iggy” a Scarlet Macaw from A Helping Wing Parrot Rescue. Many of the birds at A Helping Out of Our Shells Wing Parrot Rescue are vulnerable or endangered according to BirdLife International due to capture for the captive bird trader and habitat loss. We toured the Out Of Our Shells wrote a few letters to Norwegian shelter which included an Amazon room, Cockatoo Cruise Line two years ago regarding using plastic Room as well as the Lori and Cockatiel/Parakeet straws. Out Of Our Shells 4H has kicked off their Food and Fitness program with one of Blairstown's finest personal trainers Mrs. Jamie Falotico Tosh. Mrs. Tosh is a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and level 1 certified nutrition coach through Precision Nutrition (PN1) and personal trainer at Blairstown's Fitness Empire. During their meeting Mrs. Tosh discussed proper technique and exercises for the members and most of all she made it fun!!! Mrs. Tosh prepared two healthy snacks for the group (egg white gluten free chocolate chip cookies and yogurt parfaits with organic berries, mangos, chia seeds and granola!). It was great to see the kids trying foods they thought they didn’t like and absolutely love them!
Warm Heart Warm Lives Hot Shots Hot Shots and Stewartsville Middle School National On 12/15/18 Warm Hearts Warm Lives joined Rolling Junior Honor Society worked together on the Wreaths Thunder Chapter 3 for Wreaths Across Warren County. Across Warren County First Ever Project laying wreaths Wreaths were placed on the graves of our Veterans at at the Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery in Stewartsville, two cemeteries located in Stewartsville and the NJ Moravian cemetery located in Hope. At this event we remember and honor our Veterans and instill in our children these values. Since the spring the kids from Warm Hearts have participated in several fund raising events to raise money for the wreaths. The kids sold lemonade and brownies at the Trimont Harley-Davidson dealership in Hope, raffle tickets at a golfing event in Hunterdon County and chocolate covered pretzels at the Black Forest Inn in Stanhope. Almost $3,000 was raised by the Heart children for our Veterans. At the wreath ceremony Diane Gibbons Malanga, President of Rolling Thunder Chapter 3, was presented with the "2018 Warm Heart's Outstanding Community Service Award." Thanks to Diane for her Warm Heart and her outstanding service to Rolling Thunder and to our Veterans.

Adventures in Veterinary Medicine (AVM) is a fun and engaging career exploration program for middle and Teen Council members also baked cookies for high school students who are interested in pursuing the Warren County Homebound program in a veterinary career. We invite 4-H youth to apply to December. AVM and discover if this exciting career is right for them! AVM attendees will explore the wide variety of opportunities available within veterinary medicine and see first-hand what attending veterinary school is really like. Sessions include lectures by Tufts faculty and vet students, interesting laboratories, demonstrations, and hands-on activities with animals. Applications for summer 2019 are now available!
