“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.” 1 JOHN 5:14
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ, We wish you grace and peace for the year 2021. In the first days of the New Year, let us turn our attention to the everlasting Truth. At one point the Roman procurator Pontius Pilate asked the Lord Jesus Christ, “What is truth?” In vain, many thinkers and philosophers throughout the history of mankind have sought the answer to this ques- tion in various world views. Contrary to all these opinions, God says that the Bible is His inspired Word. Jesus Christ Himself is the Truth. He says of Himself, “I am the way, the truth and the life …” (John 14:6). Through His death He brought eternal life to men. Jesus Christ often used the term “truth.” When He wanted to draw people‘s attention to something particularly im- portant, He repeated this word: “Truly, truly, I say to you...” During the week of prayer, we will focus on some power- ful statements of Jesus to motivate us to pray freely for our families, churches and our country. May God grant to each of us the deep desire to accept His Word—which is the pure and only Truth—with all our hearts, and to begin this new year in prayer and reverence for Him. DAY 4 PRINCIPLES OF TRUE FELLOWSHIP - FAMILY LIFE “Therefore Jesus answered and was saying to them, ‘Truly, tru- ly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in the same way. For the Father loves the Son and shows Him all things that He Himself is doing; and the Father will show Him greater works than the- se, so that you will be amazed.’” (John 5:19-20) WE THANK GOD • for His selfless love, which we may emulate in our families (Eph. 5:21-33). • for our children and grandchildren (Mk. 10:13; Ps. 127:3). • for taking care of our material and spiritual needs (Matt. 6:26-34). • for the love, prayers and good example of our pa- rents (2 Tim. 1:5; Eph. 6:1-4).
