Distance Learning Guidelines for Whanau Year 3, Week 3 Dear Parents, As teachers we appreciate your concerns as to how the recent coronavirus outbreak might impact schools and your child’s learning, so we will continue to provide you with some ideas to help you continue your child’s education during school closures. We also are aware that keeping children engaged in their learning whilst at home is not easy and your children may be feeling anxious or unsure at this time. We have prepared activities for your child that can be completed both independently and with adult support. Health & PE Hip hop Jump How to play First you need to create the reins – make sure you have plenty of space. Get a skipping rope or a long piece of string and loop it around the legs of two chairs to form a square. If you don't have any chairs handy, ask two friends to loop it around their legs. With the rope low to the ground, jump in and out 10 times. If you touch the rope, start again. If you make it, move the rope up a little higher and repeat. Move it up a third time – see if you can make it without stepping on the rope. When you have completed this make a pattern. Jump with 2 feet in then one foot out. Get creative and send through some videos to your teacher. Stretches Hold all stretches for a minimum of 20 seconds. The longer the better. NB. It is a slow 20 count if you are counting and not timing. Every day this week complete stretches 1-9 as soon as you wake up and after you have had a warm shower before bed. These stretches will keep you in tip top shape and help your muscles remain flexible.
