WHO ARE WE? WE ARE WILDLIFE WARRIORS! We fight for an extremely important cause – to protect wildlife and wild places! By participating in this challenge, you’re now a Wildlife Warrior, too! The original Wildlife Warriors, Steve and Terri Irwin started our global wildlife force in 2002 and today, we work together with Terri, Bindi and Robert to continue Steve’s legacy. Steve’s Dream: A world where people and wildlife can live alongside one another. Together, we can protect injured and endangered wildlife around the world. Every dollar you raise in your Readathon journey will go towards:- Treating sick, injured & orphaned Australian wildlife at the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital Protecting tigers in Sumatra from illegal poaching and habitat destruction Saving cheetah in South Africa from conflict with farmers Defending rhinos in Kenya against poachers and wildlife criminals Helping people in Cambodia’s elephant hotspots find ways to live alongside these wild giants Conserving grey nurse sharks on Australia’s east coast by studying their breeding patterns Researching crocodiles in Far North Queensland to discover how to truly protect them 3
