Knowlton Court: The Country Estate Knowlton Court is a family-run country estate of some 2,100 acres located at the heart of Kent, the Garden of England. Whether you choose to celebrate beneath the sunshine in our breath-taking gardens or wrapped in the candle-lit opulence of winter, Knowlton provides a stunning backdrop for the perfect wedding celebration. Welcoming you to Knowlton for your wedding would be our pleasure.
Knowlton’s parkland and surrounding countryside create a unique wedding setting. Our Great Park Marquee overlooks open countryside, offering uninterrupted views of the estate, and seats up to 150 people. We have hosted weddings for 500 here at Knowlton and can extend the marquee to suit, providing a wonderful, luxurious space in which to entertain your guests. Formal dining, summer BBQs, luxury picnics or Hog Roasts, can all be accommodated, as can TiPi settings or other marquee styles. We take pride in the fact that each wedding and celebration that takes place at Knowlton is unique. From the archetypal English country-house wedding celebration to a festival party vibe, we will ensure that your wedding, event or celebration is one to remember. The Knowlton Bride When you choose Knowlton for your wedding, we make a number of rooms in our stunning home exclusively yours for the most important and special day of your life. Summer brides planning a large wedding can choose to make a breath-taking entrance in our formal gardens and exchange vows beneath the romantic setting of our hand-crafted oak pavilion. Champagne can be enjoyed on the Pavilion Lawn, and the breakfast within our luxurious marquee.
The Knowlton Wedding The Pavilion, which was designed by our family and hand-crafted from Estate oak, is situated on one of our sweeping lawns and offers an intimate and enchanting place in which to exchange vows. Guests could also choose to marry in one of our local parish churches, Holy Cross Church, Goodnestone, and All Saints Church, Chillenden. Each is within a short distance of the Knowlton estate. Vast, with high ceilings, the Great Hall at Knowlton accommodates 100 guests and is fully licensed for Civil Wedding Ceremonies and Civil Partnerships. An elegant room, perfectly suited for any celebration or ceremony, the Great Hall is a sumptuous setting at the heart of our historic home. St Clement’s is a delightful and romantic private chapel here at Knowlton and we would be delighted to arrange a blessing to follow a civil ceremony.
Creating a perfect menu for your special day Our partnerships with local and London-based caterers are well-established and, together with our wedding coordinator, they will create menus to remember. You might prefer to enjoy a festival feel and bring in pop-up food stalls such as fish and chips or a Hog Roast for your evening celebrations, and we are more than happy to accommodate this and help with arrangements. From the finest champagne for toasts to the perfect table wine to complement your wedding breakfast, we can tailor a wine list and bar offering to make your party go with a swing.
Make the celebration last for days We would be pleased to welcome your bridal party to our family home and our brides always tell us that it is the family atmosphere of Knowlton which makes it so special. We have a number of properties within the Estate, which can accommodate up to 64 guests. From a toast to the groom and his attendants on the eve of the wedding and the delight of preparing the bride and her bridesmaids for the day ahead, or watching children play on the lawns in the summer sunshine or a getting together for a post- wedding feast in the garden of the Dower House, Knowlton is the perfect place for a family wedding. The Knowlton Estate has plenty of other accommodation including The Lodge, a sumptuous four-bedroom house at the foot of Knowlton’s sweeping driveway.
