We’re planning for our future As we shape Rotokauri-Northwest into a connected, vibrant, attractive and prosperous community, one of the major projects we’re working on at the moment is the Rotokauri Arterials Project. This project ultimately protects the land where our future transport connections will go. This will give Hamiltonian’s a Rotokauri that’s easy to live in, explore and connect to.
Why do we have to do this project? We want Rotokauri-Northwest to be a community that’s easy to live in, explore, and connect to. Transport connections form an important part of this. Rotokauri-Northwest is the gateway for the Hamilton to Auckland Corridor, so planning for these future connections is key. For our Rotokauri- Northwest community, this means we are able to future proof for anticipated long-term development and growth.
Information evening feedback In early April we hit the road and hosted a drop in session for our Rotokauri-Northwest community. Prior to this session we had only been engaging with directly affected landowners and key stakeholders. Overall, the evening was a great success with staff having engaging and meaningful conversations with our people. Some of the key themes/ takeaways from Interest in the current the night were: construction works going on for Te Wetini Drive underpass and when this project is planned to be finished. Timing of works and when Council plan on building the arterial network. High interest in the surrounding land use and development in Rotokauri-Northwest. Interest in how the arterials project will make it easier to get to The Base and Central City.
