Together with the public, we have developed this road map as a path to our bright future. The next four years will be driven by four key priority areas—our budgets and the day-to-day operations of our staff will commit to ensuring a healthy local economy, sustainable critical infrastructure, the positive spirit of our community, and good governance. We extend a warm thank you to the residents that took the time to provide input into this document that will guide our direction and decisions for the years to come. We now move forward with enthusiasm and optimism. Sincerely, Mayor Karl Hauch 4
Community Engagement The public voice An essential component of any municipal strategic plan is public engagement. A community survey was undertaken to gather insight from Bruderheim residents—we wanted to know what residents value most about the Town, and what improvements they believed could be made. Public engagement followed the SWOT approach—to uncover what the public believed to be the Town’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The information collected was used to support the development of the key priorities and objectives outlined in this plan. Many residents used the survey as an opportunity to share ideas that could make Bruderheim a better place to live, work and play. Town Council and Staff are committed to enhancing service delivery, fulfilling the needs of residents and improving in areas that require attention. Strengths Weaknesses Opportunities Threats 5
