Washington Amaranthian Dispatch December 2021 Happy Holidays from the Grand Royal Matron! I hope that you have the ability to be with family and friends during this next month. We have several events coming down the month. December 1 – Welcome Court’s official visit December 3 – Alki’s official Visit December 4 – Group Meeting (with Ornament exchange) Bremerton’s official visit December 10 – Pyramid’s official visit December 14 – Rhododendron meeting and Snowball fight (they have Lincoln’s snowballs) I have been able to attend the Thornton McElroy installation. It was a lovely installation. I have been able to attend all the official visits, except Alpine’s which has been re-scheduled. I have enjoyed each of them and seeing everyone come out that feel comfortable doing so. It was interesting that last month in our newsletter that SK Gary and I had very similar greetings. That was not planned but it was a laugh that we shared. Thank you all for your support for Gary and I during this year. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our DRB fundraiser.
Amaranth love, Heather Hughes, GRM Honored Ladies and Sir Knights, I bring you Season Greetings from the East. I wish I could say to you all, have a very Merry Christmas, and have a Happy New Year, but as we all know, it is not Politically correct to do so. The end of the year celebrates the beginning and end of another year. For most of you this time of year is normally celebrated with family and friends. We all have our own traditions. For the past 30 years my wife HL Robin’s family met at her mother’s house where all of her brother and sisters and their kids gathered to eat and be merry. However with the passing of HL Bernice (Robin’s mother) last June all of the family has had to make a change of plans. For HL Robin and I, we gathered for Thanksgiving at the new home of our GRM HL Heather and her husband (Mike) the GM for a small family together. Since we all travel a lot together visiting our Subordinate Courts we felt safe doing so. The Turkey was replaced with Beef Wellington due to HL Heathers allergies and the rest of us brought side dishes and desserts. Needless to say we all ate way too much and enjoyed playing cards games and all had a good time.
The Month of December brings new challenges as we continue on with the Official Visit. I hope that many of you will continue to join us and if needed fill in as pro- tems. While I am so proud of all of our Subordinate Courts being able to reopen this year, a few Courts are still struggling to survive and could use our help. If I do not get a chance to see you in person I want to be politically incorrect and wish you all a Merry Christmas and for those who celebrate the holidays in a different way, I wish you all Peace on Earth and Goodwill to all mankind. Happy Holidays SK Gary Lewis GRP Happy Holidays Washington Amaranth I want to wish everyone a fabulous holiday season. May all your wishes come true. I look forward to seeing you all soon. Katey Grand Associate Matron The holiday season is a time to reflect upon the past year with friends and family. One of the most significant things to do is to get in touch with those whom you have lost connection with. As we get caught up in our day-to-day existence it is too easy to forget about those who have touched our lives, despite our good intentions. A simple phone call or a special message in a Christmas card can mean so much to someone who no longer can get out and about. I wish you all health and happiness during this busy time of year!

Enjoy your holiday season and if I don’t see you before Dec 25th, have a very Merry Christmas and enjoy the month ahead with family, friends love and laughter! Kathy Thisted, Grand Secretary of Washington From the Jr. Has Been, I thought I'd take a few minutes and pass along my greetings for a wonderful Christmas and holiday season. I hope everyone has a wonderful time visiting with family and friends. Enjoying the time together and sharing special moments. To borrow a phrase from a very well-known movie, “It’s a Wonderful Life." I think we should all try and live life to the fullest; to love freely and be aware of those around us who may need our assistance. God Bless. Bill, Jr. Has Been.
