THE NEWCOMERS’ MEET AND GREET WHAT: Informative meeting for all newcomers and their families. An opportunity to meet each other and learn about Stoneybrook and Heritage Harbour. Representatives from the Heritage Harbour Master Association, the Stoneybrook Homeowners Associa- tion and the CDD will be present to give an overview of each board. There will be printed information and time for Q&A. Hope to see you then! Painting is back! Welcome back artists! It’s been some time since we have met. The Stoneybrook arts workshop will resume Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 from 9:30 am to 12 pm and will be every week. Meeting place will be the back room at the recreation center. This workshop includes all types of artists with all levels of experience. We meet to learn from each other, encourage each other and simply to share our love for the arts. We have several field trips a year to local art places which usually include a lunch out. Residents may be required to present their Stoneybrook I.D. at anytime while using any of our amenities. Girls’ Night Out Girls Night Out event will be held on Tuesday, January 18, Visit us on Facebook: 2022, and will continue every third Tuesday from 6:30pm HOA of Stoneybrook at to 8:30pm. We will be playing cards or games of your Heritage Harbour choice. Snacks can be brought by the attendees to be shared at your table. Bradenton. So get some friends together and decide on a game and we can have some fun. There will be a sign-up sheet available for you to sign in every month. 2021 Stoneybrook Holiday Lights Contest Having the pleasure of driving around our community to view all the beautiful light decorations on the homes in Stoneybrook we had to make a decision. After much discussion the following were chosen from the five categories. 1. Best Overall 7722 Camden Harbour Drive 2. Camden Harbour/Quail Greens 7546 Camden Harbour Drive 3. Two Story Homes 806 Cedar Harbour 4. One Story Homes 148 New Briton Court 5. Villas/Coach Homes/Carriage Homes 8219 Summer Greens Terrace - The Judging Committee - Breakfast with Santa Santa and Mrs. Claus were back at Stoneybrook on December 4th at Breakfast with Santa. Attendees were able to get their pictures taken with the couple from the North Pole. Children decorated picture frames for their pho- to plus Christmas ornaments with their close-up pictures inside. They also decorated ornaments, colored Christ- mas placemats, and ate all the pancakes they could eat along with fruit, sausage, doughnut holes, muffins, and juice. It was a fun event for everyone involved! Thank you to Christina Brantley for planning the crafts, Kathy Donovan and Heidi Neville for planning the food, photographer Nancy Lively, and all the cooks, servers, and craft assistants! Also thank you to the many volunteers who showed up to help decorate the rec center for Christmas, came to help set up the day before the party and helped clean up afterward! If you missed the event this year, be sure to put it on you calendar for next year! It is one of the biggest events in our community and brings joy to so many of our young residents! Thanks Santa and Mrs. Claus for fitting us into your busy schedule and sharing your time with our families! 4
Table Tennis The next Fun Friday is Friday, February 18th Anyone interested in playing or learning to play Table from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. Please mark down Tennis, can come to the Rec Centre between 1:30pm and on your calendar and come and enjoy your 4:30pm on Wednesdays, except when the facility is used neighbors! for Master Association meetings on the fourth Wednesday of the month. Beginners can use the time from 1:30pm to 2:30pm to sharpen their skills. We look forward to a good attendance. Helping Hands Are Music on the Lawn Here for YOU! Saturday, February 19 th , 2022 8:00am to 1:00pm Register to participate at the rec center January 10th – February 11th . Deadline to register is February 11th. Rec center will be open Saturday January 15th, 22nd, 29th, and February 5th from 9am to 12pm for your convenience. $10 cash or check (made out to Stoneybrook HOA) for exact amount per household required to participate (due when registering). Payment covers cost of advertising, listing of participating addresses, and directional maps and signs. Volunteers are needed for traffic control. If you are willing to help, please contact Carole Bakalar by email at carolebakalar@gmail.com. Arrangements will be made with a charity to pick up marked boxes for donation at the curb after the sale ends on the day of the event. TRAFFIC NOTICE: For safety purposes, due to the popularity of garage sales, the following streets will be converted to one-way streets during the sale, with parking only on the right hand side of the street. Stone Harbour Loop — Turn right (east) and circle around the loop. Camden Harbour Drive — Traffic will stay to the right all the way around the loop. Alternating maps will direct traffic either to Stone Harbour or Camden Harbour first. This will decrease the volume of traffic on both sides of the community. AAA Senior Defensive Driving Class Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 9am-1:30pm at the Rec Center. 55+ ONLY — $20 fee Pre-Register; Sign up on the rec center bulletin board, certificates of completion will be handed out and bring your insurance policy for immediate update. Lunch will not be provided, please make sure to bring something to eat. The Wonderful World of Books The Stoneybrook Book Club will meet on Friday, January 7th in the Rec Center at 1:30pm to discuss Chocolat by Joanne Harris. Chocolat’s every page offers a description of chocolate to melt in the mouths of chocoholics, Francophiles, armchair gourmets, cookbook readers, and lovers of passion everywhere. It's a must for anyone who craves an escapist read, and is a bewitching gift for any holiday.
