Scoring
Each station is worth a maximum of 25 points. All scoring is done in whole points – no fractional
points. No bonus points. All stations are scored except for the Golden Nugget.

Each sled is required to visit towns in the order presented on their scorecard. The scheduled town may
authorize you to proceed to the next town if they are at capacity and anticipate an extended delay (as
judged by the Mayor of that town). If this occurs, the Mayor will mark the authorization on your
scorecard. Please complete the remainder of your schedule and return to the skipped town at the end.

Governor’s Grants are available from the Governor and authorized designees (such as the Lt.
Governor.) The Governor’s Grant will consist of 5 questions for a possible total of 25 points.

First Aid
Any Scout requiring first aid should report to Lass Lodge or the nearest town for assistance.

                                                                                                     3

General Rules
(in all cases, the Mayor may designate additional Town Officials to assist)

Show Scout Spirit for maximum points! Make sure your Patrol Flag and name are clearly visible.
And enter each town chanting your Patrol Cheer LOUDLY AND CLEARLY.

On-Site Registration
Check in at Dawson at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled start time. Bring your
completed sled roster form. The Patrol Leader is responsible for this form, and will be scored
based on their level of preparation for registration. (Remember – this is a town, too.)

Each unit leader should separately report to registration with a Unit Consolidation form to
settle registrations for all sleds in the unit. This is not included in scoring for registration.

You will receive a packet with a map, official scorecard and a ticket for each registered member
of your sled to receive a cup of hot chocolate at the Golden Nugget.

Weigh-in
At least 15 minutes before your scheduled start time, present your sled to the Mayor of
Bonanza Creek. Your sled must weigh at least 80 pounds. The Mayor will verify unit
information, Patrol name and Patrol flag

Starting
Proceed to the starting line 5 minutes before your scheduled time. The starter will verify your
start time, confirm that you know where you’re going and declare the official start.

At Each Town….
The Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader should proceed to check-in for the town, with the
remainder of the patrol staying with the sled. A Town Official will record your arrival time and
provide instruction on their challenge. Remember that a Scout is Courteous. Upon completion
of the challenge, a Town Official will record your completion time and town score. Time
records here are strictly informational. TOWNS WILL NOT ACCEPT NEW SLEDS AFTER 3 PM.

Golden Nugget
You may visit the Golden Nugget at any time during the day.

When you’re done…
Return to Dawson to submit your final scorecard. Failure to submit your scorecard will
disqualify your sled.

                                                                                                    5
