14Invercargill & Bluff
New Zealand’s southernmost city was founded in the 1850’s and is the
capital of Southland. Influenced by early European settlers, Invercargill
is full of grand architecture, ingenious people and world class facilities.
Whether it’s a day outdoors on the coast or in our recreational reserves,
wandering the shops and enjoying the restaurants and cafes or taking
in the variety of heritage attractions, Invercargill is the place for a warm
welcome and true Southern hospitality. Similarly Bluff is quintessential
New Zealand, with the rugged charm of its fishing and port heritage,
a must stop with views to Stewart Island, Southland and, of course,
home to the Bluff Oyster.
