About the Event Tough Cubbers is the ultimate Cub Scout obstacle course that will challenge the mind, body and agility of each participant. There will be six courses of challenging feats to overcome. A scorecard will be kept for all teams/individuals to determine who are the TOUGHEST CUBBERS of them all. Activities THE STRONG MAN COURSE TIRE FLIP & HAUL: Each participant will be challenged to flip tires about 50 feet and then stand and tie a rope around themselves to haul them back to the starting point. TARZAN ROPE SWING: Have you ever wanted to swing on a rope from a tree in the jungle, beating your chest and screaming at the top of your lungs? This event will give you the opportunity to do just that. See how long you can swing from the rope before you let go or fall off! IGLOO WAGON PULL: Each participant will partner up with another and pull a loaded wagon (with igloo coolers) from point A to point B! Then, they will drag the cooler back to the starting point in order to score points. The key is to keep all of the water inside the coolers as you pull them! Points will be awarded for how high you climb and how high you stack up to your competition! THE STRONG MIND COURSE The Strong Mind Course is a challenge of using critical thinking skills coupled with teamwork to score points. Communication and teamwork will be the key to your success. THE MINE FIELD: Participants will team up in pairs and each teammate will lead their partner, blindfolded, through a minefield (objects and obstacles) with the goal of not stepping on the “landmines.” The blindfolded person cannot speak at all. Points will be awarded based on successful completion and communication. THE EGG DROP: Teams will be given a box of supplies and given a certain time period to build a contraption around an uncooked egg that will be designed to protect the egg when dropped from a “high point.” Points will be awarded based on creative design and how high the egg is dropped from before breaking. HULA HOOP PASS: Another teamwork game for our participants. Each participant will form a circle connecting arms. A hula hoop will be placed at a starting point between two people. The goal is to pass the hula hoop all the way around the circle without anyone breaking their hands free.
THE TOUGH TERRAIN COURSE (BEAUMONT 5K) Challenge yourself and your team by completing the Beaumont 5K (walk or run – your choice). Your time will be recorded and points will be awarded by time frame brackets based on average completion times. THE MARKSMAN COURSE The Marksman Course will test your individual and team accuracy in the area of shooting sports. We will feature 3 areas of shooting in which participants will be given a select number of shots at each. Points will be recorded based on shot accuracy as an individual and a team. • BB shooting • Archery shooting • Wrist rockets THE SPORTSMAN COURSE This course will challenge the ultimate sportsman in each patrol. The course will feature 4 sporting challenges that will allow for team and individual points. Are you at the top of your game? GIANT SOCCER BALLS: This will be a team game of soccer using a 6 foot soccer ball. The object will be to score the most points in a predetermined time frame for your team. The winning team will receive 3 points plus the number of goals they score, the losing team will score 1 point plus the number of goals they score. PUNT PASS & KICK: This challenge will score individual points to be added up into team points. Each participant will have a chance to Punt, Pass and Kick a football for distance. Each individual score will be added up and then divided by the number of participants for an average team score. HOLE IN ONE (DISC GOLF): Each team will attempt to get a hole in 1 on a disc golf hole within a designated time frame. Each team can score multiple hole in ones if within the time frame. The teams individual totals will be added together to determine the team score. HOOPSMAN (BASKETBALL CHALLENGE) Each team will be challenged with shooting free throws, layups and three pointers for their points. Each participant will shoot the same number of each and scores will be averaged to compensate for uneven team sizes. Are you a hoops pro or not so?
