2 3 Tie-in and structures Tie-in and structures “Configurable design” The oil and gas industry faces a multitude of subsea challenges and constantly looks to push the boundaries in order to get the most out of a field. As a leading supplier of integrated subsea production systems, Aker Solutions offers tie-in and structure solutions tailor-made to our customers’ needs. Over the last 20 years we have executed over 100 manifold and tie-in projects, and delivered more than 1 700 connectors worldwide. Aker Solutions provides an extensive range of field-proven technologies for safe, diver-less connections of umbilicals, rigid pipelines, flexible flowlines and risers. Our tie-in and manifold structures are based on standard components that can be adapted to our customers’ needs, both for horizontal and vertical connections. Product focus: • Cost and quality: lightweight yet robust structures with minimal parts exposed to subsea conditions. Decreased weight equals cost savings during installation • Installation friendly: configurable designs and standard components • Simple tooling: reduced tooling requirements which lower the costs associated with purchasing and maintenance Aker Solutions can support our customers all over the world, with main hubs in Norway, Malaysia, Brazil, UK, US, Australia and Angola. Our presence at these key strategic locations means that we can ensure timely, efficient and effective product and service delivery. Aker Solutions offers the complete value chain: engineering, fabrication and testing all in one. Next generation Installation of a spool using the solutions vertical connection system (VCS)
4 5 Tie-in and structures Tie-in products “Secure connections” Field-proven technology: Vertical connection system (VCS) more than 1 700 connections delivered and on order The VCS is a cost effective system designed for deepwater installations that can connect bore sizes from the range of 3” up to 28” as well as multibore. • Fast and easy installation, pre-mounted on the pipeline or umbilical-end • For use with rigid or flexible umbilical lines (± 8 degree alignment capacity for rigid jumpers and up to ± 15 degree for flexible/umbilical) • Seal retained in upper hub/connector well protected • Seal replacement and hub cleaning possible without retrieving the jumper • No heavy running tool required, only a ROV carried tool is required to make up the VCS • High load capacity • Field-proven and cost efficient Horizontal Connection System (HCS) This horizontal connection system is suitable for use when subsea conditions do not allow the flowline or umbilical to be laid directly under the seabed. The HCS can connect bore sizes from 3” up to 28” as well as multibore. • Designed for installation both with and without guidewires to accommodate for harsh weather conditions, shallow waters and deep waters • Quick, easy changes to switch between guidewire and guidewire-less installation • High load capacities and misalignment tolerances • Applicable for rigid, flexible or umbilical lines • Fast and easy installation • Less mobilization time and deck space required for tooling • Multiple jumper installations can be performed with ROV connection tools remaining subsea • Allow retrieval of XMT/ manifold without removal of the spool/jumper • Seal replacement and hub cleaning without retrieving the jumper • Flexible – can be made up by both divers and by ROV Remote tie-in systems (RTS) The RTS has been developed to perform diverless connections on flowlines and umbilicals parked on the seabed. RTS is suitable for configurations up to 12”, whilst the big brother system is used for 12” to 28”: • Standard ROV used for operation and control of the tie-ins • Pull-in, inspection and closing all in one operation • No diver or guidelines required • Reduced vessel time Installation of jumpers on the Dalia field in Angola
6 7 Tie-in and structures Tie-in and structures Clamp and sealing Aker Solutions clamp connectors were first installed in 1988. Since then, more than 1 700 connectors have been deployed around the world. Tooling Aker Solutions focus on cost-effectiveness and simplicity. Our tie-in systems require only simple ROV operated tooling. technologies Our clamp connector is a three hinged connector with a single jackscrew. It is used for diverless connection of subsea flexible Not only does this reduce cost for our customers, but it means installations can be completed faster, less mobilisation time is required, and multiple installations can be performed at once. and rigid pipelines and umbilicals ranging from small 4” to large 40” diameter and multi bore connections. It can be adapted for • The same tools can be used on both our vertical and any configuration. horizontal tie-in connections • Requires only a torque, stroke, replacement and cleaning tool Functional characteristics: • Safe diverless operation with high reliability • Uses the same tool carriers to further reduce costs • Metal-to-metal seal between the inboard and outboard hubs • Short stroking distance minimise flowline elasticity requirements • Allows disconnection and replacement of connectors and seals • Quick and easy installation • Simple and robust Aker Solutions clamp connectors use titanium seals which are designed for: • Low setting force Torque tool • More elastic • Corrosion resistant • Controlled contact stress • Reduced risk of galling • Reduced risk of damage to seat surface Three hinge clamp VCS stroke tool connector with a single jackscrew TX-seal with metal to metal sealing
8 9 Tie-in and structures Manifolds, templates “Field-proven and other structures and reliable” Standard template and manifold design Aker Solutions has been delivering templates and manifolds since the 1980s. We focus on reducing operational cost and modularising the systems for maximum flexibility. Our products can be tailored to meet specific project requirements, but utilise standardised, field-proven components, designs and fabrication methodologies. Design benefits: • Short execution schedules • Low risk for customers • Cost efficient • Reduced size and weight • Robust with better ROV access • Field-proven components Configurable template Aker Solutions’ templates can be installed as a complete module, or separate parts added as required. This building block principle has been designed to maximise adaptability and convenience. The templates are designed to adapt to individual vessels and their installation methods. Its flexible weight and size is suitable for wet tow and offshore lifting on either rig or vessel. Customers do not need to wait for the right vessel to become available when utilising our templates, therefore decreasing total installation costs. Products and benefits: • Overtrawlable cluster manifolds built to customer’s specification for functionality • Flexible installation • Overtrawlable with low forces on the structure (NORSOK compliant) • Same concept for four, six and eight slot template Manifolds Aker Solutions deepwater manifolds are functional and versatile, and based on the same modular concept as our templates. Our manifolds range from simple valve stations to sophisticated control, distribution and production manifolds. We have solid experience in developing manifolds operating in HT/HP conditions, and fabrication at our own yards in Norway, Brazil and Malaysia means timely delivery around the world. Products: • Integrated manifolds • Deepwater cluster manifolds • Pipeline-end manifolds Installation of deepwater manifold, Gimboa field, Angola
