Rachel Richardson From Scotland English Longwools The English Longwools are an amazing group of sheep, encompassing some of our very favourite breeds to some much less known. We will look at the differences in the lock characteristics of the members of this group and discuss possible uses. We will then work with a couple of these Longwools, preparing the locks and spinning the yarn. This will encompass combing and using a diz to make a hand pulled roving. I want to encourage the use of breed specific fibre. With the English Longwools we have an exceptional palette to pick from.
