WFS 2021 COURSES Advanced and Commercial Forcible Entry | $120 4 3 Sessions Available, Choose 1: MAX # OF HOURS Saturday, 8am-12pm | Saturday, 1pm-5pm | Sunday, 8am-12pm STUDENTS: 10 The Advanced and Commercial Forcible Entry course is an accelerated training opportunity for students proficient with residen al forcible entry techniques. This class provides in-depth training on forcible entry tools by applying the usage to simulated fire scenes including working through obstruc ons. Students will engage in hands-on scenarios that require forcible entry in limited visibility and zero visibility condi ons. Commercial course topics will include advanced cu ng techniques for fencing, chains, burglar bars, carriage bolts, and locks. Required Equipment: NFPA compliant PPE and SCBA, including ear and eye protec on. Thermal Imaging Camera Familiarity and Usage | $150 4 3 Sessions Available, Choose 1: MAX # OF HOURS Saturday, 8am-12pm | Saturday, 1pm-5pm | Sunday, 8am-12pm STUDENTS: 10 The Thermal Imaging Camera Familiarity and Usage course is designed for all skill levels. Students will become confident with the thermal imaging camera applica on and opera ons. Class topics include basic camera func on, search techniques and fire behavior. Students will engage in mul ple live fire training scenarios that will connect the usage of the fireground tool to primary and secondary search techniques. The class will consist of a brief lecture followed by hands-on live fire training using the fireground tool. Required Equipment: NFPA compliant PPE and SCBA. Engine Company Opera ons | $275 4 3 Sessions Available, Choose 1: MAX # OF HOURS Saturday, 8am-12pm | Saturday, 1pm-5pm | Sunday, 8am-12pm STUDENTS: 10 The Engine Company Opera ons course is designed for all skill levels. Topics include hose line advancement, searching from a line, ven la on, and ge ng water to the fire. Students will work in large and small companies to test their skills in mul ple opera ons and scenarios with a variety of smoke and heat condi ons. Required Equipment: NFPA compliant PPE and SCBA. Down and Dirty Hydraulics | $100 4 3 Sessions Available, Choose 1: MAX # OF HOURS Saturday, 8am-12pm | Saturday, 1pm-5pm | Sunday, 8am-12pm STUDENTS: 10 The Down and Dirty Hydraulics course is geared toward firefighters new to pump opera ons. The course will cover basic concepts on how to calculate hoseline pressures for a variety of hose sizes. Students will gain an understanding of why proper discharge pressure is cri cal for correct flow. Classroom course, no protec ve gear required. First-In Officer | $260 8 1 Session: Saturday, 8am-5pm MAX # OF HOURS STUDENTS: 20 The First-In Officer course is designed for newly promoted company officers, those interested in becoming a company officer, or firefighters who may be responsible for comple ng the du es of an ac ng officer. Course topics will include size-up, tac cal decision making, direc on and control of personnel, and accountability. This class includes four hours of classroom discussion followed by live fire training scenarios. Required Equipment: NFPA compliant PPE and SCBA.
Ac ve Shooter – Tac cal Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) | NO FEE/GRANT FUNDED 16 1 Session: MAX # OF HOURS Saturday, 8am-5pm & Sunday, 8am-5pm STUDENTS: 25 The Ac ve Shooter: Tac cal Emergency Casualty Care (TECC) course is an EMS-based class designed for all skill levels. The class covers topics that decrease preventable deaths from ac ve shooter, hos le, or mass casualty events. The TECC program includes discussions, table top, and full immersion exercises. Upon successful comple on of the course, students will receive TECC cer fica on from the Na onal Associa on of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT).
