City Council Recreation Guide APRIL| MAY | JUNE | JULY | AUGUST Council President Residents and Business Community Members: Alec Isaacson In the thick of winter, some members of the staff at City Hall were MAYOR busy plowing streets and sidewalks and spreading salt all around Mayor Justin Berns town. Other staff members, however, were thinking about summer and how they could enhance your recreational opportunities here COUNCIL PRESIDENT in Beachwood. The culmination of their efforts lies within this new Alec Isaacson Recreation Guide. Many options exist for all ages and interests. COUNCIL V.P. family aquatic center 7 BEACHWOOD COMMUNITY SERVICES SYNCHRONIZED SWIM CLUB GROUP & PRIVATE SWIM LESSONS Instructor: Rosemary Nemeth All swimming lessons, besides day camp swimming lessons, will take place at the Ages: 8 – 14 years Beachwood High School Pool and taught by Swim Cleveland. Join us this summer and learn how to beachwood perform synchronized swim routines. Tuesdays and Thursdays Students will meet once a week to Session 1 Session 1: June 14 - 30 work on the basics of synchronized Session 2 Session 2: July 5 - 21 swimming. The program will conclude Session 3 Session 3: July 26 - August 11 with a synchronized swim show. BEACHWOOD COMMUNITY SERVICES 8 skating Ice Skating, Learn to Skate Lessons BABY BLADES: Learn basic skating skills such as sitting and standing on the ice, marching and gliding. This class offers a 20-minute on-ice session BASIC 4 & 5 followed by a 10-minute story time. Helmets are mandatory. Ages: 6 and Up Tuesday 5:30 – 6:00 PM SNOWPLOW SAM 1-4: Learn basic skating skills such as marching, April 5 - May 17 gliding and swizzles in a fun and positive atmosphere alongside other (No class April 26) skaters of similar ages and skill levels. Helmets are mandatory. Skaters Thursday 6:00 – 6:30 PM should wear one pair of thin, high socks or tights and warm layers for April 7 - May 19 comfort and ease of movement. (No class April 28) BASIC 1-6: Beginner skaters ages 6 and up will progress through the Saturday 1:45 – 2:15 PM Basic Skills curriculum while learning basic skating skills such as April 9 - May 21 swizzles, stroking and crossovers.
