your irish experience begins here! Day 1: Sunday – Cork, the Rebel County We leave Ireland’s capital city, Dublin and begin our journey to the magical South West. Our first stop is in County Tipperary where will visit medieval round tower, chapel, cathedral and castle steeped in 1,000 years of history at The Rock of Cashel. Our journey continues onwards to County Cork, Ireland’s rebel county. Cork city is one of the most vibrant cities in Europe and locals always refer to it as the REAL capital of Ireland. Your Cork experience starts with a kiss of the Blarney Stone where everyone will receive the “gift of the gab“. You will then have time to explore the gardens, castle and rock close and enjoy lunch. Our first day ends in West Cork’s stunning harbour town of Kinsale which is renowned for its award-winning restaurants and dramatic scenery. total driving time: 3 hours 30 minutes
Day 2: Monday – T he Ring of Kerry & The Dingle Penninsula Your morning starts with a guided walking tour through the historic port and fishing town of Kinsale. The town is home to many castles, forts, galleries, shops, arts & crafts, and the recently launched Kinsale Gourmet Academy. There is something for everyone in Kinsale. We depart Kinsale and travel the Ring of Kerry. Our first stop is the beautiful heritage town of Kenmare. Here you will discover many hidden gems on the Ring of Kerry: Moll’s Gap, Torc Waterfall and Ross Castle in Killarney National Park. Your Ross Castle tour will open your eyes as to how life really was within the stone walls. And it’s not what you think! Tonight we will stay in the cozy coastal town of Dingle. The evening is yours to absorb the atmosphere in the town’s famous quirky pubs, fantastic restaurants and where you will stumble across unforgettable traditional music sessions. total driving time: 2 hours 40 minutes
Day 3: Tuesday – Dingle Our morning begins with a meeting, via kayak, with Dingle’s most celebrated local, Fungie the Dolphin in Dingle Bay. But if kayaking is not your thing, we will take you on a hike up Mount Brandon which boasts 360 degree panoramic views of Dingle Bay and Castlegregory. And if you are looking for some retail therapy, you can also choose to take some time out and visit the local shops. Let our expert guides take you on a breathtaking trip along the Slea Head Drive and finish off your perfect day at the Dingle Whiskey Distillery. This award-winning distillery is where you will get to savor some of its finest whiskey and gin and some interesting history of whiskey production around the world. We then return to our accommodations in Dingle where you can kick back, relax and enjoy. total driving time: 1 hour 45 minutes
Day 4: Wednesday – Cliffs of Moher & Lahinch After departing Dingle, we start to journey northwards via the Conor Pass with dramatic drops and encroaching cliffs at every turn towards Castlegregory. We visit the Kerry County Museum in Tralee town where the main gallery is home to priceless archaeological objects that narrate the story of Kerry’s people and landscape from the 20th Century. Our journey continues as we cross the River Shannon by ferry to leave the South West behind and arrive in County Clare. County Clare, known as the Banner County is home to the spectacular Cliffs of Moher and the Burren National Park. We will explore the cliffs by foot and let the fresh air and dramatic coastline invigorate everyone! This is one the most photographed locations in Ireland and will you will leave with very long lasting memories of your visit. Tonight we will spend the evening in the most welcoming and colourful village of Doolin, the home-town of traditional Irish music. total driving time: 3 hours 20 minutes
Day 5: T hursday – Galway Our farewell to County Clare is also our welcome to County Galway . As we travel through the Burren towards Galway city, we will visit Corcomroe Abbey, a 13th-century Cistercian monastery and Poulnabrone Dolmen, a portal tomb, one of approximately 172 in Ireland. We will stop in the quaint fishing town of Kinvara where you will have time to take a photo of the 16th Century Dunguaire Castle. Galway is Ireland’s unofficial capital of festivals and it is a city where there is always something happening. It hosts such globally famous festivals as the Galway International Oyster Festival, The Galway Races and The Galway International Arts Festival. It is a medieval city with many of its historic building still in use today, but which are now home to shops, bars and restaurants. Each building has a story of its own and a stroll down its medieval streets is a must. Its brightly-painted pubs heave with live music, while cafés offer front-row seats for observing street performers, musicians and local characters. Galway is also referred to as “The Gourmet Capital of Ireland” and our food tour will give you a true taste of the city and its rich hinterland. You will be able to sample an array of culinary delights from many of its local artisan food producers. You will then depart Galway this evening by GoBus to Dublin City/Airport. This is included in the tour price. total driving time: 1 hour 40 minutes
