From Our Directors Dear Friends of Camp Kesem OSU, Since 2011, Camp Kesem at The Ohio State University has served as a child’s friend through and beyond their parent’s cancer. We work year-round planning, recruiting, and fundraising - all for the magic that is made during a single week in the summer. Our mission is to provide an environment in which our campers can forget about the troubles of their everyday lives and just be kids again. It is this goal that guides our efforts each year. Enclosed you will find a copy of our Annual Report from FY 2014. This report highlights some of the most important statistics associated with Camp Kesem, and with our chapter in particular. Some of these highlights include camper and fundraising growth since our chapter’s founding, and the generous contributions made by our donors. However, the true testament to the value of this organization is in the words of our counselors and the families we serve. Camp Kesem is more than just a week of camp. We are a family of passionate, fun, loving, and dedicated individuals all working to provide year-round support. Thanks to your efforts and contributions, we will continue to provide the resources and services our campers and families deserve. Join us in making 2015 the best year yet for Camp Kesem OSU! Camp Kesem OSU Parent Testimonials “When I was diagnosed... my kids had to grow up really fast. They internalized a lot and didn’t share, I think they were trying to be brave for me. When they came home from camp, they were like they got their childhood back. They shared their feelings and you could see their inner spark ignited. They have made some life long friends and had experiences that I’m sure will shape the rest of their lives.” “I am a single mom, and have been struggling since diagnosis.
