THE MESSENGER 19251 North Tamiami Trail, No. Ft. Myers, FL 33903 Holy Trinity Presbyterian Church Summer 2021 Issue 7/8 Website: www.htpc-nfm.com Phone: 239-567-2246 E-mail: admin@htpc-nfm.com Living for Christ through Worship, Discipleship, Service and Fellowship Back to “Normal” Everyone seems to be talking about getting back to “normal” although I am not really certain what “normal” was or is! Normal seems to be something that changes from day to day, year to year. But I think we can all agree, we want to get back to something that resembles what we would want for “normal” in our lives. As a pastor, husband, father, grandfather, Christian and all of the other things that I am, for a little over a year everything that I thought was normal changed, big time…just as it did for all of you. Now, fully vaccinated, life is returning to what it was before COVID. Truthfully, it has been emotionally overwhelming at times. It is SUCH a joy to see our children, grandchildren, and family but it is more difficult than “normal” to say goodbye when we leave. It is SUCH a joy to eat out in a restaurant, to go somewhere without a mask, to even go to the doctor’s or dentist’s office without worrying about getting deathly sick from COVID. The emotions are incredibly good, but also overwhelming at times. I hope and pray that you are having the opportunity to feel the joy of being with others once again…and perhaps even overwhelmed with a sense of joy. Within your church it is much the same way. When we first returned to in-person worship those first few weeks were filled with emotions, sometimes overwhelmingly good. Oh, the joy to just sing in the choir, to worship in the building, and to simply see our church family together! We are continuing to return to “normal” and hope that by fall we will be able to pick up where we left off when the COVID hit. Presbyterian Women and Men meeting, Bible classes, Holy Trinity On-The-Go (fun outings), and perhaps some local mission. Keep an eye out for Rally Day this fall, this will be one celebration like no other we have ever had as we celebrate returning to “normal.” I hope and pray that your life is returning to “normal” and that you are overwhelmed with a sense of joy. But in that joy, let us not forget the lessons learned about health and cleanliness, but also about how precious life is and particularly our life with others! Even in the midst of the pandemic, God has provided, and continues to do so as we return to “normal.” Blessings, Pastor Clint

Page 3 Summer 2021 THE MUSIC DEPARTMENT We in the Music Department of HTPC are so excited to see all the wonderful singing going on in the church every Sunday. The choir will be singing pretty much all summer praising the Lord in song. And the choir will be starting to work on the Christmas cantata in August. How exciting! One might consider joining the choir or the Christmas Cantata Choir or both, music reading not required; you would be very welcomed. The first service has been going strong with about 50 folks every Sunday. The Praise Band is constantly working on new praise music... some foot- taping might be observed. How wonderful to be back in church and a near normal. Praise be to God! God Bless! Paul Prayer Chain Warriors MONDAY, JULY 19TH You are being upheld in our thoughts and supported with our prayers.
