Camp Wakonda COVID-Relief UPDATE Thank you for continuing to support Camp Wakonda through the COVID-Relief Fund! So far, we have raised $79,735 of our $100,000 deficit. LET’S HIT THAT GOAL! Send a check to the church with “Wakonda COVID-Relief” in the memo line or go to http://bit.ly/WakondaCovid to make a donation. Thank you for giving and for your prayers in this challenging time. We are praying for you too! THINGS AT WAKONDA ARE LOOKING EXCITING FOR SUMMER 2021! We had released a tentative schedule for this coming summer, but we are revising our plans due to COVID and a potential great opportunity for camp. For now, we are considering two possible schedules for the summer. We are taking our time with this because we want to get this summer right! Look for the final schedule to be released in February. We are also taking our campers’ health and safety very seriously! So we are looking at all of our procedures to make them as COVID-safe as possible. Some things to be prepared for in 2021: ♦ All campers, staff, and guests will be required to wear masks during indoor activities (masks may be removed while sitting to eat at meals) and while unable to maintain social distance outdoors. ♦ Kitchen staff will wear masks and gloves during all food preparation and service. ♦ Meals will be served cafeteria-style, possibly with a staggered meal schedule. ♦ Guests and family of campers will stay with their vehicle during check-in & pick-up procedures; arrival times will be staggered (this will be sent to you prior to your camp event). ♦ Campers must turn in a 14-day temperature log at check-in (we will provide this). ♦ A camp staff member will be doing daily temperature checks while campers are on-site. ♦ Cabin groups will be paired, creating small explorer groups, for activities in order to limit potential whole-camp exposure. ♦ Camp maintenance staff are cleaning and sanitizing high-touch surfaces multiple times each day. ♦ As we learn more, additional procedures may be added (such as, but not limited to, requiring testing and/or vaccinations prior to arrival, if available). We are doing all of this to keep our campers, staff, and guests safe! Please hold Camp Wakonda in prayer as we prepare for a safe and exciting 2021! Shalom! ~ Pastor Ben
