                 GUT FLORA REPLACEMENT
             (FAECAL MICROBIOME TRANSPLANT)

Is the process of implanting the beneficial intestinal bacteria and
yeasts from specific varied probiotic supplements in significant
quantities, because the gut needs trillions, not billion of bacteria.
This is in order to reset the essential gut microflora needed for the
gut to function properly.

Disease finds it difficult to expand when gut flora is normal.

Gut Flora Replacement aims to restore gut flora that has been
damaged.

Background

Regarding human health there have been thousands of papers
publishes over the last few years linking changes in gut flora
composition to Allergies, Asthma, Obesity, Cancer, Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome, Parkinson’s Disease, Irritable Bowel Syndrome
and Ulcerative Colitis. This does not mean that this treatment is
curative for these conditions but the outcomes from this kind of
treatment have been remarkable. These outcomes having been
anecdotal, have not yet fed into significant-sized Randomised
Control Studies, so these have yet to be done using this approach
on the various conditions mentioned .

Changes in the gut microbiome have also been linked to
Inflammatory Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis and Depression.

There is a full transcript of an article in The Guardian written by
Ann Robinson and published on 1st August 2016. This is an
excellent overview of how important the gut microbiome is. The
article can be accessed using the following link:

              TREATMENT PROCESS

Following a consultation with Dr Kenyon a standard
letter will be emailed to you, outlining the
prescribed transplant recommendation and cost.

Contact can be made with the Nursing Department
on Tel: 01962 717063 to discuss booking a
treatment.

                  TRANSPLANT PROCESS

The Gut Flora Replacement process involves 10 treatments
and a Colon Hydrotherapy on the first day of treatment.

Please take time to read through all of the information
provided by our Nursing Team.

Patients can make appointments to have 2, 3 or 5 treatments
a week.

Payment for the course of treatment is made at first
appointment.

Some patients travelling from abroad may wish to book
treatments on consecutive days.

For each appointment it is best to allow one and a half hours.

The Gut Flora Replacement is delivered via a rectal catheter,
which is inserted through the anus to reach the lower part of
the sigmoid colon.

When considering treatment it is important to note that for the
Gut Flora Replacement to work effectively you will need lots
of rest, lots of sleep and to be as calm and relaxed and de-
stressed as possible

If travelling any distance daily, please aim to be at the Clinic
half an hour before your appointment, this is to give you the
chance to sit in the waiting room and unwind.

       Expectations/Outcomes from Treatment

Regarding human health and Gut Flora Replacements,
including Faecal Microbiome Transplants, there have
been many papers published linking changes in gut flora
composition. We have had to switch from using donor-
derived, laboratory-processed Implants, simply because
of the Covid-19 pandemic. Stools are contaminated with
Covid-19, therefore making a risk of contracting Covid-
19 from contaminated stools a possibility, we have
switched to Gut Flora Replacement Therapy. This is
entirely safe and is very much cheaper than Faecal
Microbiome Transplantation

This does not mean that this treatment is curative for
medical conditions.

Gut Flora Replacement, including Faecal Microbiome
Transplant , does not work for everybody :-

• 33% Fast response within 3-5 days felt great,
     noticeable improvement.

• 33% Slower response, takes 3 months to see
     progress.

• 33% No discernible response—sometimes takes
     several years.

It is important to allow 3 months following treatment
before assessing response.
