THE BOOKMARK FEBRUARY 2021 8563 8440 Library News The Barossa Council library@barossa.sa.gov.au The Barossa Council Public LIbrary FRIENDS NEWS After almost 32 years of supporting our library we say a big "Thank You" to our Friends of the Barossa Library Group. The Friends have decided to take a pause in their get togethers for the time being, to step back and focus on other important things. In the meantime, you will still see many of them visiting the library and volunteering from time to time at various events and library ventures. We thank them for their tireless work and passion for the Barossa Libraries and Barossa community. Without them, much of what we have set out to do would not have been achieved. Their support and advocacy has been greatly appreciated. We look forward to still staying in touch and hopefully re-instating the group one day in the future. FAREWELL TANIA PAULL 2021 is the start of change for many and with that we say farewell to our wonderful Library Manager. Following a busy and rewarding nine years here in the Barossa, Tania Paull, our Library and Heritage Manager, is moving to the bustle of the city, with a sea breeze, at the City of Holdfast Bay Council. Tania’s extensive expertise and experience will be an asset in her role as Manager Customer Experience and Library Services. Tania’s dedication and hard work has seen, amongst many things, the refurbishments at our library branches at Lyndoch, Mt Pleasant, Angaston and Tanunda, and the implementation of the RFID (radio frequency identification) system you see when borrowing and returning items. Tania’s enthusiasm has been instrumental in the formation and success of the Regional Heritage Network, supporting the preservation of our Barossa heritage across the community and promotion of heritage tourism. Tania has given freely of her time to many corporate and community events, a regular volunteer at the Barossa Regional Gallery and supporter of the Friends of the Library. Over a dinner table, full of stories and reminiscences, library staff have thanked Tania for her guidance, support and friendship, wishing her well in her new role.
