contract extended until 2022.

TWO litters of African lion cubs are
about to meet the public for the first time
at West Midland Safari Park.
Keepers at the Bewdley venue have
just revealed the arrival of the seven
incredibly cute cubs.
After a gestation period of around four
months, ten-year-old Scar gave birth to
three cubs on 27th August, with the
second litter of four cubs following on
17th September to seven-year-old
Amber.
With both sets of cubs around four
months old, they are now almost ready to
meet the public.
Keepers suspected the two females
might be expecting after witnessing
mating behaviour with the park’s domi-
nant male, five-year-old Tsavo, who
arrived with his two brothers in 2016.
Tsavo is dad to both sets of cubs, making
the seven youngsters half-siblings.
As with all animals born at the park in
2019, keepers have chosen names for the
cubs beginning with the letter H. Scar’s
cubs – two males and a female – have
been called Hunter, Hercules and Her-
natty, while Amber’s three males and a
female are named Harabi, Hodge, Havoc
and Hira.

neighbours in Leamington to
watch them perform a pan-
tomime.

Lawn went to the charity’s

ington to see Jack and the
Beanstalk.
MHA explained that for many,
Christmas and the new year is a
time to reconnect with old
friends in the community and
make new ones – but for those
living in a care home, it isn’t
always that easy.
The coming together of the
three homes was a fantastic
opportunity for residents to meet
new people living in the area.
The pantomime proved a great
success, with members of the
audience joining in and even
asking for an encore at the end.
The residents at MHA Home-
wood take performing very seri-
ously, with a weekly amateur
dramatics group in which enthu-
siasts come together to practise
public speaking, take part in
improvisation activities and
rehearse for performances such
as Jack and the Beanstalk.
