Thank You! Dear Parents, I am in awe of the amazing things we managed to NEWSLETTER #20 achieve during Term 2. She has further announced that schools will reopen on Monday, 19 July 2021. Please note that we have not received any further updates regarding full capacity return - so far, the latest update was that learners will return to school at full capacity once schools reopen after the holidays, however, we will give parents a final update during the holidays. Note that aftercare will still be available on Wednesday, 30 June 2021 from 10:00 - 17:00. REPORTS Due to the fact that the holidays have been brought forward, and we first need schedule approval from the Department’s District Assessment Team, learner reports will be emailed after the school has reopened. This also applies to virtual parent meetings - these meetings will take place after the school holidays. COVID-19 SCHOOL STATISTICS Please see below our school’s Covid-19 statistics: (Accurate at the time of publishing: 28 June 2021) 3 Staff in Quarantine (Including the Wold) 7 Staff in Isolation (Including the Wold) 8 Learners in Quarantine (Including the Wold) 12 Learners in Isolation (Including the Wold) NOTE: All positive cases are reported to the Department of Education, as well as the Department of Health as per the mandate given to schools. All positive cases are in isolation and contact tracing is done by our Acting Principal, Ms Mgandela and the school’s Covid Compliance Officer, Mr Clark. All affected classrooms / venues in the school were deep-cleaned. A COLLECTIVE EFFORT: We are in the midst of a third Covid-19 wave, therefore, I would like to reiterate the importance of wearing masks, sanitising hands and limiting visits to friends. I would also like to remind parents that our classrooms are being cleaned and sanitised throughout the day. Please have discussions around Covid-19 safety with your child at home - if we take hands to educate our children, we can all be safe.
