Activities and procedures within HOSA-Future Health Professionals, Texas

Fall Leadership Conference
Texas HOSA Fall Leadership Conference is an event for all
prospective and current HOSA members as a motivational tool and
to showcase all the opportunities that HOSA offers.
Things to remember for Fall:
• Check Calendar for dates and place
• Publicize events to all students
• Register students, collect fees
• Pay fees by deadline
• Enjoy the Conference
National Affiliation
Active HOSA members shall be secondary or postsecondary/collegiate students, who
have an interest in health science technology education and/or planning to pursue or
pursuing a career in the health professions.
Things to remember for Affiliation:
• In Texas the deadline for the National process is November
15.
• Please keep in mind that competitive event team members
must be a member of the SAME chapter. No switching of
members from one chapter to another will be allowed after
submission of the chapter affiliation to National HOSA.
• A list of all member names and addresses, school address,
phone/fax numbers
• Your five digits National HOSA CHARTER NUMBER &
PASSWORD
• If you need help, call Executive Director at 1-877-728-0150
Online Testing
Serves as Area Competition for Health Science Events. In addition, Online Testing also
provides a tool for Competitive Events with more than one round.
Things to remember for Online Testing:

• Secure Testing Site and Proctor
• Register students, collect fees
• Pay fees by deadline
Area Conference/ Competition
Provides an opportunity for students to show mastery of Healthcare related skills and
knowledge in a variety of competitive events and scholarship opportunities. Students
who show a certain level of mastery can advance to State Conference.
Things to remember for Area:
• Start early.
• Stay on top of all deadlines.
• Register students, collect fees
• Bring Check to Conference at Registration
• Be prepared to work your assigned event.
Competitive Events Assignments for Advisors
It is the expectation that every Texas HOSA advisor serve as Event Manager/Assistant
for one of the Competitive Events offered at the Area Leadership Conference.
Refer to Area Conference Memo for details.
State Competition
Provides an opportunity for students to show mastery of Healthcare related skills and
knowledge in a variety of competitive events and scholarship opportunities. Students
who show a certain level of mastery can advance to National Conference.
