INTRODUCTION --- Welcome to Swerve Soccer’s Technical Training Programme in association with Bede's School. Within this programme we are offering an advanced training package for players in school years 5-8 (age 9-12). Classes run every Thursday from 6pm-7.30pm. Over the course of our programme, players will receive training from ex-professional Dan Harding who has played for the likes of Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton, Millwall and England U21. Joining Dan will be a whole host of UEFA qualified coaches who have a wealth of experience. Your child will train at Bede’s School, Upper Dicker with access to on- site floodlit pitches, a state-of-the-art gym and a multi-million-pound sports complex. Students will be developed into the ‘complete player’. This will be achieved through numerous methods such as sports- science workshops, video analysis seminars, strength and conditioning classes and progressive training formats. Through our links, we will also offer termly fixtures against local clubs/academies and higher playing opportunities to professional clubs. DAN HARDING Dan began his professional career with Brighton and Hove Albion. He played for Leeds, Ipswich, Reading, Southampton and Nottingham Forest. Dan’s career ADAM EL-ABD spanned over 16 years, playing in excess of 350 professional league matches for some of the UK's biggest soccer clubs demanding over £1.5 million dollars in transfer fees. Dan also has caps at international level, playing four times for England U21's while helping them qualify for the European championships. Dan has 4 promotion medals and his biggest achievement is being an integral part of the Southampton back-to-back promotions to the Premier League. Dan has played alongside world-class players such as Adam Lallana (Liverpool and England), Alex Chamberlain (Liverpool and England), Morgan Scniderlain (Everton and France), Ricky Lambert and Jose Fonte (West Ham and current European champion with Portugal). Dan earned his coaching badges while working at the Southampton FC Academy, which has produced players such as Gareth Bale, Adam Lallana and Alex Chamberlain. P. 3
IDENTITY --- At Swerve Soccer we believe in providing a unique footballing experience for all involved. Our staff put the player first, are mindful of each player's individuals needs and ensure each player is the centre of attention. We will focus on effort rather than outcome and help grow individual performances through trial and error. As a Swerve Soccer member, we will aid players through motivation, without any prejudice and without intimidation or shame/violence. Swerve Soccer will focus on enhancing each players development through educational workshops and technical training sessions. We believe in providing a culture that gives players the chance to express themselves and be creative. Our focus will be on progressing all involved with repetition when required for each and every player. We wish to provide a healthy and competitive environment that encourages confidence and risk. We do not see this programme as ‘just coaching’, we aim to impact each player's day-to-day lives by providing a system where we encourage character development, self-discipline, self-motivation, self-worth and joy of life. TECHNICAL METHODOLOGY --- 1. Training will be adapted to the players and their individual and collective characteristics. 2. Sessions are structured, progressive and gradual. 3. Training environment will be approaches in a holistic and integral manner. 4. Our classes is focused on the players having a good deal with the ball (both dominant and non dominant feet). 5. We ensure players are in permanent contact with the ball for an adequate amount of time each session 6. All aspects to make the complete player are covered (Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological). 7. We ensure players understanding the perception of the game (tactical area) linked with all physical and technical contents. 8. Players will have the same opportunities (in the training and during competitions). 9. Leave aside the “win over all”, but use the competition as a fundamental part of the training process. 10. AIMS --- Our Technical Programme is aimed at players that are excelling within their grassroots clubs and are currently/previously apart of a professional club/ academy. Players that are successful in their trial are subjected to a vast array of training enhancements developing technical, tactical, physiological and psychological attributes. We wish to be an extension service alongside programmes they may already attend such as a their club and academy teams. We do not wish to provide an environment whereby we take your child away from their playing commitments. We will be regularly monitoring players performance with the outlook of providing higher playing opportunities where possible. Swerve Soccer will be open for consultation should this arise. P. 6
LOCATION --- Players will train at one of the UK's top independent school’s located in the South East of England. Bede’s Senior School provides the perfect training environment: 1 x floodlit artificial football pitch 5 x eleven a-side grass pitches 1 x multi-purpose sports complex 1 x state-of-the-art gym 1 x swimming pool Players will have the opportunity to utilise the above facilities during their progressive training programme. TONY MORRISS --- Tony is an Advanced High-Performance Strength & Conditioning Coach with 20 years experience. Tony has worked with Premier League Player Solly March (pictured). Tony will lead our performance training sessions. These include: Strength & Conditioning SAQ Training Balance & Coordination Fitness Testing Injury Prevention Tony will provide a unique insight into preventing severs disease, Osgood- Schlatter’s and much more. FIXTURES --- Throughout the season we provide competitive fixtures against clubs & academies during the allocated training times. Players are sent match recordings for self-analysis of their performances and team analysis is provided during training sessions. P. 13
BEDE’S SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES --- Bede’s Football are regarded highly across England. Their U19’s have most recently won the prestigious ‘Hudl League’ during the 2019/20 season where the top 12 independent schools in England compete (they went undefeated). Their U15’s also made it to the last 32 of the ESFA and ISFA cups which see thousands of teams compete across England. They have produced players such as Solly March (Brighton and Hove Albion Premiership footballer) James Norwood (top goal scorer in 2018/19 for League 2, Tranmere Rovers and now playing for League 1, Ipswich Town) Ellison Wright (signed for Crystal Palace in 2019 on a two-year professional contract) Nathan Odokonyero (signed for Lincoln City FC in 2019 on a two- year professional contract) Jamie Fielding (signed for Stevenage FC in 2019) Knory Scott (signed for Kidderminster Harriers in 2018) Isaac Drogba (signed in 2018 for EA Guingam) We work closely with Bede’s to highlight players for scholarships opportunities.
