(by invitation only) LOC staff will be available at the airports on 14 and 15 August to assist with team departures. 1.4.1 Opening/Closing Night 2.2 VISAS An opening night will take place at the London Stadium, beginning one hour before the start of the first session on 4 August (18:00). A closing night will be organised at the end of the final session at the London Stadium on 13 August. There will be no delegation parade as part of 2.2.1 General either the opening or closing nights but team members are welcome to watch from team seating. The United Kingdom has strict regulations about who needs a visa to enter the UK. If you are a citizen of a country that requires a UK visa (a visa national) you will NOT be allowed to enter the 1.4.2 Athlete Party UK without one. The LOC will be hosting a party for athletes and team officials at the end of the Championships. 2.2.2 Visa Application Process DITATION ACCRE If you are a visa national and are coming to the UK to participate in the IAAF World Championships you should apply for the ‘IAAF and IPC World Athletics Championships’ visa type. This visa is free of charge to accredited team members with an official invitation letter from the LOC and is valid for six months from date of issue. The LOC is able to provide accommodation for Extra Coaches (at an extra cost) in hotels close to the Team Hotels.
