About Us Sun City West is an unincorporated community within the Northwest Valley of Maricopa County. Opened by Del Webb in 1978, the community was completed in 1997 and includes about 17,500 homes and nearly 29,000 residents. Sun City West is agerestricted, and at least one resi dent in each household must be at least 55 years old. No one under 19 is allowed permanent residency, al though the Association abides by all Fair Housing Laws and the Americans with Disabilities Act. As an unincorporated entity, the community is gov erned by the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The Recreation Centers of Sun City West Inc. was set up by Del Webb to operate the community’s recreation centers, golf courses, library, bowling center and other Association property. Underage visitors GENERAL RULES • Host members are responsible for the conduct of guests and for any damages to facilities or equipment by their guests. • Children under age 16 must be accompanied by a responsi ble adult at all times. There are no exceptions. • Children are guests and as such must be signed in by a mem ber with a valid recreation card using guest credits. • Children must follow all rules of the Association and must not interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of the facilities by res idents and other adult guests. BILLIARDS: Children who are taller than 52 inches and can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the monitor that they can properly use the cue stick without causing damage to the table may use the Billiards Room. BOWLING: Children may bowl at the R.H. Johnson Sports Pavil ion if they can safely handle a bowling ball. Provisions also are made to allow inperson balloting on Election Day for those who do not use computers. Only OwnerMembers in good standing may vote. Informa tion is provided well in advance through the Rec Center News, online and on bulletin boards. If you wish to vote online, we encourage you to provide your email address well in advance of the election (which is held in March), so we can email your ballot. Each OwnerMember must have their own email address on file to vote online (spouses may not share an email address). You only need to register your email address once and it will remain in force for subsequent elections, unless you change it. CC&Rs The following items do not represent all the CC&Rs (Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions) or policies set by the Recreation Centers of Sun City West. You were furnished a com‐ plete set of CC&Rs when you purchased your property. If you are a property Owner in Sun City West, you have agreed to follow your Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&Rs). These include, but are not limited to, the following: • No motor home, boat, RV, truck, trailer, bus or commercial vehicle may be parked for more than a total of 72 hours in any one month. Charters come with perks, responsibilities The Chartered Clubs are an integral part of the Associa tion and are supervised by the Association. They are required to follow all Rules, Regulations and Procedures for Chartered Clubs. They do not own the equipment or facilities they use; those are all property of the Association. The Chartered Clubs are the means by which the Asso ciation carries out its assigned task: that of providing leisure, social and recreational activities in a nondiscrim inatory manner. Chartered Clubs have priority use of As sociationowned facilities. Independent clubs, on the other hand, are free to or ganize and operate in any manner they see fit. They may tailor their membership to serve selected groups, and they may include people from outside Sun City West. They may also spend their money as they wish. Use of Associ ationowned facilities is on a spaceavailable basis, and rental charges are assessed. The buildings and other facilities of the Association are owned and operated for the benefit of its members.
