2 Why Mt Baw Baw? Located on Melbourne’s doorstep Mt Baw Baw is the perfect location for your next summer adventure. Just 2.5 hours east of the CBD and 1 hour from the Latrobe Valley our natural setting amongst the Snow Gums and proximity to the national park provides a cool summer escape. Our qualified instructors and Groups Coordinator can deliver mountain biking, bushwalking, facilitated activities and team initiatives. We’ve got accommodation and catering options for all budgets and are registered with the Australian Camps Association. What’s new in 2019? We’re launching some exciting new products and activities for groups visiting the mountain. This includes facilitated Japanese Snow Fighting, Archery Attack, and Laser Tag sessions! Our Dingo Resource Centre, home to our Alpine Dingoes Rowdy and Warragul, acts as a base for educational talks and walks about the unique sub- alpine environment and endangered species such as the Baw Baw Frog and Leadbeater’s Possum. 3 Facilitated Activities Outdoor Initiatives and Team Building (Facilitated) Our qualified outdoor staff can facilitate initiatives and team building activities. We can tailor sessions to suit your educational and team-building goals. These include a range of zero-prop and low prop challenges which utilise the unique natural environment of the resort. Facilitated Team Building Session (1.5hrs) Includes multiple activities in sequenced session. Longer $15 per student sessions can be arranged. Japanese Snow Fighting (Facilitated) Snow fighting... in SUMMER! Yukigassen is a strategic team capture the flag / dodgeball style game for two teams of up to 7 players. We can cater for groups of up to 28 students per session. Sessions run for between 1.5 and 2 hours depending on group. Helmets and safety equipment provided. Snow Fighting (artificial snowballs) $19 per student Includes rules and strategy session and tournament competition with one of our facilitators Snow Fighting (real snowballs!) As above except we’ll use man-made snow and Yukigassen $39 per student snowball making equipment*
4 Archery Attack (Facilitated) Archery Tag combines the best bits of Paintball, Archery and Dodgeball! Each session runs for 1.5 hours depending on group size with teams of up to 7 players. Helmets, bibs and arrows provided along with a facilitator to cater for groups of up to 28 students per session. Archery Tag Session (1.5 hrs) Includes archery practice session, rules and strategy session $19 per student and tournament competition with one of our facilitators Laser Tag (Facilitated) Our Laser Tag arena takes advantage of the natural terrain and features of Mt Baw Baw. Teams of up to 10 players face off in different game formats. Capture the flag elements add an extra dimension to point score games. We can facilitate of up to 20 students per session. Laser Tag Session (1.5 hrs) $19 per student Includes practice session, rules and strategy session and tournament competition with one of our facilitators Laser Tag + Archery Attack Combo (3 hrs+) $35 per student Enjoy the best of both worlds with the double combo. Bubble Soccer (Self-Managed) Our Bubble Soccer in the ski bowl is a fun activity to break up the day. Teams of up to 5 players verse each other in a standard game of soccer with up to 20 students in rotating team format. Self-Managed Bubble Soccer Session (1hr) $10 per student Includes bubble soccer equipment, goals, soccer ball and a lot of laughs. In-Ground Trampolines (FREE) Come and try our two inground bounce trampolines with volleyball nets! The Bounce Trampolines are free to use however supervision is required. Please register at Guest Services before use.
5 Nature Activities Guided Bushwalking (Facilitated) We offer guided hikes with one of our qualified staff within the Resort boundaries for up to 30 students per session. Guided Bushwalking / Hikes (up to 3 hours) We’ll explore the area of the resort beyond summit and learn $15 per student about the unique natural features, plants and animals of the resort and National Park. Guided Night Hikes (up to 2 hours) For groups of up to 15* students per session. We’ll go on a $15 per student night hike within the resort boundary. Head torches required. Froggy Fact Enviro Walk (1 hour) We’ll take your students on a walk to summit where they can $10 per student learn about the critically endangered Baw Baw frog. *In order to comply with AAS Guidelines we may request staffing be provided by your school to ensure safe staffing levels. The desired staffing ratio is 1:10. Bushwalks in the National Park The Resort is the perfect base for starting or finishing hikes into the Baw Baw National Park. Pending Tour Operator Approval we will be offering Guided or Assisted Hikes from Summer 2019. 6 Mountain Biking (Facilitated or Assisted) We provide sequenced lessons for beginner-intermediate cross-country mountain biking any time during green season. Lessons generally run for 2.5 hours. Group size varies between 6 - 15 depending on ability. If you’re leading your own ride we can provide staff to assist. MTB Skill and Ride Session (2.5hrs) (Facilitated) For beginners to intermediate riders. We’ll provide a safety $65pp inc. mountain bike rental brief, skills and progression to improve your student’s abilities. $20pp BYO bike/helmet Additional sessions Additional sessions around the resort or on nearby trails Contact us for discounted rates XC MTB Rental Up to 30 bikes are available subject to booking and availability $45/day Orienteering and Navigation Skills (Facilitated or Self-Managed) The sheltered ski slopes, trails and snow gum forests of the Resort are the perfect location to learn or practice orienteering and navigational skills. Facilitated Orienteering Sessions (2hrs) $15 per student Includes a navigation skills session and group challenge. Self-Managed Orienteering Course set up only $120 course set up fee Off-Mountain Activities Our location on the Baw Baw Plateau gives us close access to outdoor activities around the Gippsland and Baw Baw Shire area. These are provided by external companies. Off-Mountain Activities include: White-Water Canoeing on the Flat Water Canoeing on Blue Abseiling and Rock Climbing Thompson Rock Lake around Mushroom Rocks
7 Safety Equipment Hire For self-guided trips, or hikes into the national park we offer hire or safety equipment such as PLBs and radios subject to booking and availability. Personal Locator Beacon Hire 1 DAY HIRE: $30 For your ease of mind, we recommend carrying an emergency 2 DAY HIRE: $45 locator device when hiking in the wilderness (for example, on 7 DAY+ HIRE: $88 the Australian Alps Walking Trail). Radio Hire For school groups, community groups or those wishing to be FREE for visiting schools with safe we will be offering radio loan services. Speak to our security deposit Group Coordinator for availability. Education Sessions Enviro Talks and Walks Our qualified staff can deliver educational sessions tailored to meet your curriculum objectives. Enviro Walk / Talk (1 hour) Delivered in VC Restaurant Conference Room, your lodge, or on the trail, we can tailor our Enviro talk to suit your needs. We typically focus on the environmental impact of the resort and introduce the unique flora and fauna. Meet the Dingoes Session Meet Rowdy and Warragul (20 mins - 60mins) Come and Visit our Dingo Resource Centre home of our two lovable Alpine Dingoes Rowdy and Warragul. Your students will get up and close and learn about this endangered native animal (If you’re lucky you might even get a dingo kiss!) $99 per session Maximum group size varies, for large groups we will break into smaller groups and rotate students

As part of this we offer a range of camp skills sessions including tent and camp set-up, bush craft and safety demonstrations/talks. Tent Hire and Camping (15 minutes) $15 per student/night This includes tent hire (and access to our Nordic Bowl Camp Area (Port-a-Loo Access, Access to Emergency Shelter) Tent Set-Up / Camps Skills /Safety Briefing Session (30 mins) $60 per session We can provide campsite set-up and briefing session for your students. Access Getting Here Option 1: Historic Tourist Road The turn off from the Princes Highway (M1) is at Drouin/Mt Baw exit, continue along via Noojee. The tourist drive is very picturesque but narrow and windy. Option 2: South Face Road From the M1, take the turn off at the Moe exit and continue via Erica. Take the left turn off at South Face Road. South Face Road is 26km of unsealed road, but a good wide road & straighter. Option 3: Scenic Suburbs The best option from the eastern suburbs is to travel along the Warburton Highway, turning off at Yarra Junction which then joins the Tourist Road at Noojee.
