Stewards Needed: ODTC Spring Trial WHAT'S ODTC will host its Spring 2019 Obedience and Rally Trials on March 30-31st, at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. This spring's event features four obedience and four rally INSIDE trials. There will be five working rings and practice rings on both days, so volunteers, particularly ring stewards, are needed. Lunch and OTDC bucks are are provided to 2 ODTC Tracking Test volunteers each day. According to ODTC member Linda Under, "This was one of the 8 RACH Tracking Form best seminars I've ever attended." Twitty provided plenty of working time and creative, 9 Spring Volunteer Form fun-filled drills designed to keep the dogs' focus while building repetitions for all parts of the exercise." ODTC Holds Tracking Test BY PAUL REEP | ODTC PRESIDENT | 407-538-8680 On December 2, ODTC hosted a Tracking Test at Lee Vista in Orlando. A good time was had by all. I want to thank Ron Seeley for serving as Secretary for the test and as Chief Tracklayer. Ron accepting this role made it possible for me to enter Vincent, an English Cocker Spaniel, in the Tracking Dog Urban (TDU) Test. We didn’t pass - he was doing great until a “damn” cat crossed his path - but he made me proud. We had four Tracking Dog (TD) entries for the test -- with three passes. WAGGS | JAN-MAR 2019 -7- VOL. 28 | NO. 1 Text placeholder MEETING MINUTES Orlando Dog Training Club General Meeting – January 28, 2019 Called to order at 7:48 PM Attending: Paul Reep, Linda Unger, Robin Hammel, Rose Oesterle, Bobbie Kurivial, Stan Dudek, Cynthia Margenau, Donna McCombs Absent: Mary Lynn Jensen Brags were announced. Minutes – no minutes were read. Report of the President – none. Report of the Vice President – none. Report of the Corresponding Secretary – Rose reported that FAKC sent out a request for manning their booth at the Florida State fair Feb 7-18th. Rose will send out to membership asking for volunteers. Rose reported we have 93 members, 21 of which have not been paid, includes 6 new members, 1 rejoining, - total voting is 88. Vote for Kate Wacker to join the club, board voted YES and ballots were handed out for a secret vote. Report of the Treasurer – Robin gave the treasurers report. Robin read a thank you note received from FAKC for our donation in 2018, budget was accepted for 2019, web site problems were discussed. Reports of Committees Training – March classes start 26-27 – Linda will not teach that week because she is judging at the trial. Trials – Spring trial is March 30-31, four trials in two days. March 29 will be set-up and run thrus. TRACKING TRIAL for December 2019 has been cancelled because it falls on Thanksgiving weekend. Fall trials will be earlier this year, September 21-22, and the December trials December 11-12-13, 2019. Nominating Committee – All current board members have agreed to run on a slate for 2019. Cynthia asked for nominations from the floor. Stacy Brabanec and Sam Stokes will run for a board positions. Unfinished Business – Cynthia made a presentation about how plaques and bars look and brought a sample. She explained rules for members turning in requests for these awards. New Business – Deb Wood reported on Responsible Dog Ownership Day.
