Dear Parents/Carers,
School Dinners – We will be on rotation 2 of the Winter Menu. All classes have snack
time every day and are provided with toast, various fruits and jam, with gluten free
options available. We will shortly be providing breakfast cereal too.
Mental Health Awareness Week – 9-16 May –

Ride London Coming Through Redbridge – On Sunday 29th May members of
the public and charities will take part in the RideLondon 100, 60, and 30-mile
amateur races that come through parts of central London,
Redbridge and Essex.
It will be a fun day out for all of the family and will attract
many visitors.
However, there will be road disruptions and closures. Please

Covid 19 – Although we are all enjoying our freedoms again due to the decline in
numbers and successful vaccination programme, staff at St John’s still continue to
test twice weekly and we politely ask your young person continue doing so also.
Should you require any further test kits, please ask the school office or the class
staff.

Extra Day Holiday for Platinum Jubilee - A reminder to our parents/carers that
due to the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, school will close for half term break a day early,
Thursday 26 th M ay at 3.25 pm .
Summer Fete and Sports Day 9th July – Our Summer Fete and Sports Day is fast
approaching! This is a day for all the family to socialise and meet with your child’s
peers, staff and other families. Please do join us on this fun-filled day!
Having a Clear out? – We are asking for toys your children have
grown tired of, books or items that you may no longer need, but think
would be useful to someone else! These will be sold at our Summer
Fete for all to enjoy.
Ukraine: The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC,) has been working
in Ukraine since 2014 and continues to help those living through the conflict. “Teams
from the ICRC have been delivering medical supplies, food, water and
hygiene products. Should you wish to donate you can do so at:

Welcome everyone to our May news.
A quick reminder, that we have
moved to The Trinity Centre,
Baxter Rd, Ilford, Essex IG1
2HN.
When you come to visit us, you
need to walk down the pathway
between the two buildings. We
are the door at the end on the
left hand side. Left of the door
is a buzzer with our name on it.
The May half term activities
with Fun For All Project and the Butterflies project are :- Moby Golf, Kew Gardens,
Jubilee Party. There are still a few places left. If you want more information or want

Redbridge Forum has an Apprenticeship Vacancy
We are offering a Business Admin Level 3 delivered from our office in Baxter
Road, lasting 18 months. We have a small, friendly and flexible staff and volunteer
team. We are looking for an apprentice to support the day to day administration of
projects for our members.
This work will include face to face, telephone, email and online meetings. Working
with a small staff team and other stakeholders the work will be varied and offer good
grounding and experience to further your career. Other training will also be given
such as first aid, safeguarding and data protection. We are working with the training
provider CT Skills.
