High Quality Culture, on your doorstep… Welcome to the new season, which is jam-packed with a brilliant mix of work; our theatre season has never looked so strong and it is wonderful to bring you large scale touring work from Original Theatre Company and Peter James, beautifully crafted studio pieces direct from Edinburgh Fringe (Slightly Isolated Dog’s Don Juan was the most enjoyable hour at the Festival, I loved it), new writing projects including Shakespeare’s Lost Women and a programming partnership with Brighton Festival bringing the incredible award winning Spymonkey to Worthing with Cooped - this is a brilliant opportunity to see the masters of physical comedy at work. It is massive, so massive in fact that we have introduced our theatre season offer Wheelhouse to make it possible for you to see all our theatre work more easily, see overleaf for more details. Our Summer of Circus season returns this June with lots more opportunities to catch some of the world's best circus acts here in Worthing, we have lots more outdoor work all of which is completely free including Ockham’s Razor returning to town with The Belly of the Whale - this has to be seen to be believed, the performers glide across a giant semi-circular seesaw! We also have Julia Donaldson’s beautiful story of the dragon Zog; a must for all families this summer. For families our line-up this season won't disappoint, along with Zog we have Elmer the Patchwork Elephant, Horrible Histories with not one but two shows, the return of Dr BunHead and Giant Balloon Man and finally Goat and Monkey’s The Pirate Cruncher this September, it’s a summer line up to keep those little ones busy! Our talks line-up has something for everyone; I am particularly excited about Mary Portas, as well as welcoming Benjamin Zephaniah to Worthing for the first time; one of Britain's most remarkable poets. We have a stunning line up of contemporary dance with a first visit from Candoco Dance Company as well as TRIBE// with Still I Rise; another piece which is part of our partnership with Brighton Festival - it looks stunning. A plethora of the hugely popular screen arts performances are back; from the National Theatre, Royal Opera House and Royal Shakespeare Company as well as the hugely popular Andre Rieu. If you love what we do, make sure you are following us! Join our mailing list and social media pages so you know exactly what shows go on sale when. This season marks a true balance of quality and entertainment; we are bringing you the best touring work and ensuring, above all, you have a great night out. A massive thank you to the whole team and to you the people of Worthing for supporting us, without you it’s just an empty space.
